Project: Lace-fronting a wig and wig-interactive millinery, Final Installment!

Part One of this series addressed hairline tracing, wig ventilation, and mocking up a coal-scuttle bonnet.

Part Two dealt with setting the wig and covering the buckram base of the bonnet.

Here's how the whole thing turned out, trimming and styling!

WOW! Amazing work & detail. I agree w/you on the era -- not a personal fave, very busy & fussy. Looks kinda freaky to wear. But really interesting in design & construction, totally fascinating to see it all come together.

Ah, this is always such a juicy treat to see your creations as they come to life. That is quite the wig I must say. I wouldn't want to style my hair with armiture wire either! :D

The hat is Beautiful also!

AHA! Finally, a solution to my hair not fitting into a hat! (my hair is quite voluminous when done upwards). Now, how will that go over at school?

Beautiful project. Thanks for sharing. I wish we got to do this type of stuff in our costume shop.

I have seen many who claim to have the skill, but you partnered with the right person! I am in California, if she is ever in my state, I would love to spend some one-on-one time. I sell lace wigs that are manufactured outside the States and my resellers are very interested in the wig making process.
