i know this might not interest many of you, but "get your bootleg on" was given a cease and desist order a week before its fourth birthday.
all music tracks have been removed from the site and it now consists entirely of a few forums and some home-made acapellas.
the only reason it's been allowed to stay up at all is because of a promise not to post any copywrited music or links to copywrited music.
any post with such content will be deleted.
gybo was THE best site for mashups. there were literally hundreds of mash-up tracks posted on the site, countless links to artist sites with hundreds more and discussion threads on everything from how to create mashups to how goddamned tired we all are of mashes using "my humps".
and now its soul, the music, has been shut down.
not to be overly dramatic, but damn.
so totally lame.
