I guess we're supposed to get massive flooding tonight, which is exciting, I guess?
Pardon the radio silence, by the way. I've been keeping up with other people, but I have a hard time posting updates that aren't basically like "I did some stuff and wow!" since I lack the attention capacity necessary to make my entries all pretty and gosh.
The weather's been off-and-on, though. My car died so I'm borrowing one from the shop (burny thingy that sets fire to fuel went kaput, as I understand it, which was a relief since I was fully expecting "LOL new transmission $$$$") And the car I'm borrowing is pretty sketchy, so I'd hate to do any impromptu boating in it. The steering wheel is sticky, for one.
Band's been busy as anything, though. Did I mention I joined a wind ensemble? If not, I joined a wind ensemble, in Kurisawa. It's been 10 years since I played my trombone but I'm really glad I got back into it. It is also really strange how band geeks are, like, an international concept, apparently.
We played in the all-Hokkaido band competition on Sunday. We took Bronze, which is, like, the worst you can do, and that was a big disappointment considering how well we'd done in regional. So it goes, I guess. That was the last of the really busy summer season, though, and from now we'll have more freedom to mess around with experimental stuff. There's a fair percentage of gamers mixed in, so we're thinking of doing Final Fantasy music over the winter, maybe some Dragon Quest, that sort of thing.
