Auditory Hallucination

Feb 20, 2007 19:16

I woke up today to an auditory hallucination. It sounded like someone singing through a very quiet radio on my bedside table. As I was half asleep, I lay there trying to figure out what it might be (I have no radio in my room). It didn't sound like it came from outside, and it didn't (thank goodness) sound like a real person inside. So I pretty much concluded that it must be a hallucination, which woke me up a bit more, whereupon it stopped.

Then I fell half asleep again, and it started again, but this time it sounded like the same person talking. Again, it sounded like a radio show, but I couldn't make out any actual words. Then I woke up for good, feeling a bit creeped out, and it again immediately stopped.

I'd definitely call it a hallucination--not a dream. It sounded exactly like sound in real, waking life. It's a totally different quality from a dream. The brain is weird.
