Well, I woke at about 2am on the 19th and was having slight pains in my lower back, then at about 3am my waters broke. I didn't believe it at first. I called the hospital and my contractions were about 5 minutes apart, but they weren't that sore yet..so they told me to try to get some more sleep and call them back in the morning and although it wasn't THAT sore, I knew there was no chance of me sleeping. So by about 4 am they were starting to hurt a bit more, and they were more in my tummy than my back. I called the hospital back about 5am as they were starting to come every 2 minutes apart and they told me to make my way in. Got to hospital at 10 to 6 and after 10 minutes of being there, I had to push. I think mum was a bit scared because the midwife had gone off to get everything ready for examining me. Kenzie John Miller was born at 6.25am, and he weighed 7lbs 7. I feel so lucky to have had such a quick labour, but at the time it didn't feel very lucky. I turned to the midwife just after they had wheeled me through to delivery and asked if there was anything else, besides the gas and air which I inhaled about 5 times, I could have for the pain, but obviously by then it was to late..the head was almost out. I had about 6 pushes altogether, and then he was here.
I got home yesterday and I feel much better now that I'm settling in. I just can't wait to show him off.
