I'm almost done with my Arnell project. It was a bit odd to be working there again, as a freelancer with no office, etc., after having been on staff there for so long. They entered my name into the phone system and gave me an extension though, which I thought was an interesting sign. Sara seemed quite pleased to see me and said she should have some more work for me whenever I could take on some projects, so all in all it went quite well I guess. Of course Monday was my in-office day, and it was the coldest day of the year so far, so it wasn't as if I could take advantage of finding myself in soho for the day and go shopping, which I desperately need to do, now that I live in the fashion wasteland. I did manage to meet my sister for a drink at Trinity Place (Yes, I know...egads. But it's near her office and they do have Lagavulin.) And I made my return train with literally zero seconds to spare. The conductor said, (As I flew down the steps, carrying a huge bag and a laptop, etc., praising the fact that I'd chosen to wear my french-heeled Peter Fox boots rather than gigantic platforms) "Wow...you made it! Just like in the movies." Indeed. Missing that train was simply not an option. Acela is nifty, though way overpriced, IMO. I'd like fewer useless "amenities" and a cheaper fare. It does cut 35 minutes off the trip though, which was worth it to me.
And...spring is coming. There were bluebirds in my yard today.
