[Action: The Park]

[Hearing the message from the phone, Caster hurriedly makes his way towards the park. He is, after all, one of the people who were "abandoned". This town would dare send the false visage of his beloved Holy Maiden to eliminate his existence. If his anger can reach the heavens itself, then there is no doubt that it can reach the ( Read more... )

[With an annoyed frown, Caster walks backwards and retreats further away from Garviel. More of his tentacled sea demons block the path between him and the Space Marine. It would indeed be problematic if Garviel was allowed to get too close. The bolts from the bolter and the chainsword's sweep manages to cut down yet more of the demons defending the magus, but just the same, more are summoned on top of the remnants used as sacrifices.

The sea demons begin to surround Garviel from all sides. As he marches closer to Caster, just the same, Garviel puts himself within the range of the near-endless demons. The magus gives the sight a smile and yet more of the creatures lunge out at Garviel bearing their shark-like fangs while others crawl towards him, preparing to strike at his legs.]

Of course she is. In our last Holy Grail War, the only wish that I possessed was to resurrect my beloved Holy Virgin. The wish-granting vessel obeyed and she had appeared before my eyes!

... But cruel fate stole her memories and replaced them... I thought she had remembered as she appeared to me in my dream, but that too... was a trick of God, the cruel manipulator of the world! You know nothing about me and Jeanne! You could never know.

There are no gods, you've been deceived. [ His bolter clicks dry, and he could reload it with another magazine, but does not, mag-clamping it to his thigh, and switches hands with the chainsword, sweeping it around defensively, grasping for an egg-shaped device at his waist which he seems to drop, and then lowers his defenses just slightly, allowing the lunging creatures to entangle and bite into the magic-enhanced ceramite plate. Rin's mana signature is all over him, one that may or may not be understandable to the servant after the last holy grail war. He will allow Caster a few seconds to gloat. He knows from fighting gilgamesh, that many of the Servants enjoy the chance. ]

An expected answer from a man born in a time where the Church and the State have been separated! But He exists. And He is cruel and arrogant. You too are but a pawn in His game!

[Caster continues to walk backwards away from Garviel. He allowed the man in armor to approach him a little too much, but he stops once he sees that he might have the advantage. Caster's forces have not been depleted significantly. No matter how strong the Space Marine is, as long as Caster has an advantage through numbers, he can still win. The magus smiles as his demons continue their relentless assault. Now that Garviel seems to have lowered his defenses, they seem to have become a little more relentless.]

[ Garviel shakes his head, and makes as if to answer, when his true answer is given through the form of the Frag Grenade he dropped almost at his feet, momentarily making a tremendous blast, which hopefully should shred the nearby demons with shrapnel and send the rest reeling from concussion. He will charge through the smoke, chainsword screaming, trying to close with and murder caster in the aftermath of the explosion. ]

[The flesh of all nearby demons are pierced through many times over by the shrapnel blast while much of the rest are suffering from concussion just as Garviel had planned. If Caster had his Servant body, then he could have at least have foreseen Garviel's attack a little more easily. It takes Caster a few instances to realize that the smoke is a part of Garviel's strategy to mow through the demons and attack him directly.

It couldn't be helped. Muttering a few, short incantations from Prelati's Spellbook, Caster sends a surge of mana into the blood trails that had been left splattered on the ground. Columns of red mist bursts upwards into the air and blends with the smoke, making it thicker. Caster uses this opportunity to escape to the side. What Garviel slashes instead of the magus is another, remaining demon that had appeared only recently. This one seemed larger than the ones that Garviel had dealt with before by about twice their height.

Caster had disappeared, but as a consolation, he left his strongest demon to deal with the Space Marine. To counterattack, the demon swings a bladed tentacle at Garviel's sides.]

[ Flicker. Flicker. His regains momentarily gone, Garviel is too slow to parry the next strike of the demon, and his side is more or less staved in, knocking him hard to the ground, a mass of blood pooling beneath him. ]

..... Hngh! [ He grits, in agony, and another flicker happens, his armor returning, his body returning to normal size beneath it, but... the wound remains, even as Larraman cells start super-fast clotting. He looks up at the daemon, chainsword once again clenched in his hands, mouth filled with blood, but defiant, even struck down. ]

[The remaining demons as Garviel was struck down stretched out their tentacles in an effort to constrict and bind his limbs. The larger demon edged closer to Garviel, raising its fanged tentacles high into the air to slam them down at the Space Marine like so many clubs. Smaller demons moved closer as well, all with the intention of piling down on Garviel and tearing through his flesh.]

[ Garviel makes a conscious choice, slaughtering the smaller daemons with another sweep of the chainsword, switching to a two-handed grip, and he is knocked physically back by the fanged tentacles, ringing against and tearing rents in his armor, though the mana-reinforcement once again proves to be vital here. He is a hard, hard nut to crack, though more blood drools from his mouth, pinking his pale face. ]

You will not have her. You will not have any of them!
