the jazz club
I went out to the jazz club off Chamber's Street last night. I met up with Karen, Lauren, a friend of Lauren's (her name escapes me at the moment), Maria, Maria's sister, and another of Maria's friends from Greece. Gareth and Peter were allegedly supposed to come, but apparently got too tired and sweaty from the day's grueling activities to want to make the effort. It *was* hot yesterday. Probably one of the hottest days we've had yet this summer.
The music was really good. It didn't start up until about 11pm though, and woe as me, I had to get up at 7am the following morning in order to work. I probably went to bed around 3am, giving me a whooping 4 hours of sleep. It was probably worth it though. I hadn't had a good break in a while. They played in their regular multifarious style, including elements of funk, reggae, and of course, straight jazz. They were pretty much funking it up. We went out for a smoke a few times even though it had started to get a little rainy and wet outside.
I've been really happy with my progress on my project up until this point. My meeting with Daniel went excellent the other day. He hooked me up with some pretty descent html code he had used from a previous evolutionary psychology Internet study. I've been busying since then tinkering with it and modifying it to suit my purposes. Despite the expected frustrating moments and laborious hours of tedium, I have been making really good progress. I'm hoping to have it at a really good place by the end of the weekend, possibly even finished and ready to go online.
