Exam postponed???

May 01, 2006 03:11

I just talked to Cyp and apparently he got a letter in the mail yesterday that the Simulating Language exam is going to be indefinitley post-poned due to the teacher's strike. As far as I'm concerned, this is good news. This means that the exam originally scheduled for May 8, will *probably* (fingers crossed) be rescheduled for a later time over the summer. What this will ultimately amount to, I hope, is that I'll only have to prepare for the Language Origins exam on May 11 and can worry about Simulating Language at some point later on. Worst case scenario is that the strike won't get resolved anytime soon, and everyone will end up not getting assessed at all - i.e. no classes, no dissertation, no degree. This seems the most unlikely result, obviously, but it, of course, can't be ruled out. One other possibility, of course, is that the strike ends tomorrow, or the next day, and the test is back on for May 8 again. This would be unfortunate, obviously, having planned to *not* take an exam next week, only to have it suddenly *reappear* as if nothing happened. This however also seems an unlikely event, but who knows. The whole mess seems pretty unpredictable, to me.

Now up to 3,000 words out of 5,000 on my last essay for ACSB due Tuesday (that's in less than 48 hours). Yipe- when you say it like that. Hopefully I'll be able to crank out another 1,000 words before I hit the hay tonight. Of course, here it is very late already. Signing off...
