The best one I've seen was a mitotic spindle on a woman's bicep. It looked like the chromosomes were about to be pulled apart when she flexed her bicep.

I've got a biohazard symbol on one shoulder.

now that is a cool pic. Where did you get it? Is there a way larger version available?

as regards to the tattoo, I've known of/seen geeks with the structure of caffeine.

My labmate has a double helix around her upper arm, something simple. Me, I'm going to get one of the organism I work on (marine gastropod larvae).

My brother has a bar code and a head from his anatomy text, sort of from the phrenology era:

I hear that quite a few in the military do tattoo important information on themselves.

My brother was going to use his ssn# but he altered the numbers as the madre did not think it was a good idea ;0) There is a joke that whenever he shows people it for the first time that it can be scanned with a bar code scanner and it comes up as "$0.99 -- asshole"

When my labmate got her most recent tattoo, the artist doing it told her the week before a real asshole had come in to get a barcode tattoo. He was a real jerk, so he got the barcode from a box of tampons.

I reckon a pre-cambrian critter could be neat. Hallucigenia or Pikaia or Anomolocaris.

My b/f has shirts (not tatts) with the caffiene chemical structure and the capsacin (chilli) chemical structure. But they're freely available at thinkgeek.com
