reaching new elements

Mar 25, 2005 15:17

so i've been wanting to share my week and here goes it:

monday and tuesday were rather rocky...
finally flew back to school,
missed a few classes.
was complete exhausted
all day.
thankfully,
i was informed
i am not to play
in orchestra
for the next couple of weeks.
had a mental breakdown
by the end of the day
and took it out on people
unjustly.

got a couple of test grades back,
did poorly...
hated myself all day tuesday.

wednesday raised my spirits
to all ends.
we had a torrential rain storm
with high winds and all
in the middle of the day.
i was leaving the school of music
right after it began
and ran like hell to my dorm.
it was exhilarating.
i spotted asuka and rae out on the field,
running and sliding on the grass
like children.
so i joined them :p
by pulling up a chair
in the middle of the field,
continuing to get poured on.
it was a wonderful experience
and definitely put me in a great mood.
needless to say,
we were all soaked-
so we took showers and
cleaned up.
i let my clothes hang in the bathroom
on a hook to dry
(which parts of were stolen, by the way...
my favorite jeans :\ ).

later that night,
thanks to asuka's
enthusiastic discovery of an ad,
we decided to go to
'Goth Night' at The Morgue,
a.k.a. Club O'Zone
(which my counterpoint theory teacher
later informed me is on any other given night
one of the most famous gay clubs in the country).
we simply decided to go
for a completely different experience
from anything we are savy to,
to get dressed up
and just go nuts.

To our surprise
the club ended up being situated
right across from campus
in the back of a shopping center (...?...).
it was surprisingly a pretty decent place
and we all had a load of fun.
i'll post pictures at some point...
we kinda went all out with getting dressed up.
asuka did our make-up
which was spectacular,
and barmey drew an
intricate gothic design on her back (in black sharpie).
according to her
i looked like a
"half-dead crack-head from london".
the night was a success.

it was like nothing i've ever experienced-
a completely different element from my norm.
the dancing was out of this world,
the clothing was off the wall,
the music was pretty cool (mostly industrial techno),
the whole atmosphere was just trippy as hell.
the people there were
on another planet,
which made it all the better.

i love doing random crazy shit
that i don't really know anything about
and experiencing it first-hand.
and rae and asuka are two of the few people
i feel i can do that with.
we've had some crazy adventures ;)

moving on...

i played in forum today-
Sabre Dance on xylophone with timpani accompaniment
and the Super Mario Bros. Theme Music
for marimba trio and percussion.
Sabre was ok,
but I always think I suck.
so from a realistic critical perspective,
i'm not really sure how it went.
I had fun though,
so that's all that matters.
Super Mario was a hit, of course.
Gotta love nintendo classics!
