I can't think of anything clever, so....

... I will just say what it is that I have to say.

*deep breath*

I'M PREGNANT.

*and exhale*

We found out May 30 thanks to the lovely pregnancy test I purchased mere hours before Candi's wedding. Certainly put the kibash on celebratory kamikaze shots, but oh well. It made for a good 1st year anniversary for Evan and me.

The summer was an unproductive mess thanks largely in part to extreme nausea that JUST WOULDN'T FUCKING GO AWAY. Gah. That was beyond tiresome and by the end of the first trimester, I lost 5 lbs and totally wrecked our food budget since I never knew what was going to make me sick to the stomach. So much wasted food, so much money spent on prepared stuff.

But hey, here I am at the beginning of the 5th month and things are good overall. The kid is healthy and active. Oh my God, is it active! It just won't sit still during any of the sonograms. You can tell it has Evan's manic genes.

I'm eating much more and have gained back the 5 lbs, plus a few more. And I can only fit into one pair of pants now, and even those are getting tight. I'm slowly accumulating stretchy maternity type clothes through purchase and donation (thanks, Franke and Emily!).

Oh, and as of yesterday, it is no longer an "it", but rather a "she." We're having a baby girl :) It really changes one's perception of the creature when a sex is suddenly attached. I can finally start knitting things for her (I was waiting because I have a lot of purple yarn to use up).

So yeah. We're excited, though I'm still a little frightened. Responsibility and the whole birthing process. Kind of intense.

But hey, I got a D-size rack now. That's what counts, right?
