2013 Icon Progression Post
A (very) short Icon Progression Post for 2013
Semi-hiatus because of Uni.
J A N U A R Y - A P R I L
Uni is over! And with that I have a lot more iconing time!. Icons this month were mainly for icontests and I have no real definite style. It was mainly me trying to get back into the rhythm of things. Also, towards the latter half of the month I tried to make myself work with text, since I'm absolutely horrible at it.
M A Y
June was a pretty active month. I participated in anime20in20 which fires me up for the rest of the month ^-^ I also kept on participating in several other icontests and kept on struggling trying to find a nice balance with my text and light texture use. I also joined tcg_exchange which motivated me to actually submit more :)
J U N E
I made more icons this month than any other month. I participated in yet another anime20in20 round this time focused on Naruto and made more icons for several icontests. This time around most of my icons either focused on blue or pink since I was in a "blue phase". I practiced more on lighting and composition which turned out okay I think.
J U L Y
I began to use GIMP instead of Paintshop Pro as I had been using and began to notice a slight difference in the way I made my icons that I liked a lot. Icons this month were a lot cleaner, neater, and just overall prettier. I worked a lot on my lighting as well as trying to shy away from the center crop (which didn't always work).

Absolute favorite icons from the whole year! I'm back to icon-making after a long semi-hiatus and I've finally gotten the hang of GIMP! I made more sophisticated icons and developed my style of bright colors and lighting as well. This was also the last month of anime20in20. These last icons have shown such a growth from past months and. All in all I think a lovely way to end of the year.
