I am aware that there are no Normandy pictures. I overloaded the computer last night after writing captions for an hour and none of them stuck. I didn’t have the energy to do it again. I will probably do it when I get home. Sorry about that.
Today was the optional trip to Versailles. Everyone came except Dani and Sarah (who were meeting a friend who is here for one day only) and Marshall. Becca wasn’t there for a while because she was locked in her apartment and had to be rescued. We walked around for while waiting for Becca and had crepes at this funny little place that was pretty cool. I think it was a good bonding experience because the lack of enough seniors for them to form their own group created a much more open and sharing environment. That sounded cheesy. But it’s true.
When we got Becca we took several long train rides to Versailles, looked around, and got a bit lost in exactly the place that we were supposed to be. M H was so far behind that we were all together and thought we had gone to the wrong place. Anyway, it was very large and imposing and impressive, but not very pretty. Will has decided that he’s buying it when he’s rich and famous. Emma called a room, and he said she could have seventeen if she wanted. It’s that big. The entire city of Newton could live inside the building.
After that, we took a little cart ride around the grounds, which were pretty cool. And very very cold. As usual. Tommy has decided that he’s part sheep. On the train on the way back I tried to get Tommy to ask HP questions which he obliged to. Most of them were rather insane or very objective. Some were good though. I think I got about one point due to the extreme specificity of the questions which I deemed fair, but lost anyway. Oh well. It was fun.
After, I went with Laura and Elise shopping at H and M. I have bought more at H and M than at any other place combined. It’s quite a good store. Je l’aime beaucoup. Now I’m taking a break from my Macbeth essay which I will not end up finishing tonight. I have also begun to pack. Now for a rant:
OLYMPIC SPOILERS IN THE CUT
For those of you who don’t know LJ, even if you don’t click on the cut when you leave a comment it will be visible, so be careful
I can’t believe Sasha Cohen. She did amazingly, but fell once. As she gets off the ice, she looks totally disheartened and we think, okay, that fall might have cost her a medal. She sits in the kiss and cry and the scores are announced. As she sits waiting her eyes go pink and when the really good scores begin to pop up, she starts legitimately crying. As in, tears visible on the face. She gets first place. She shakes her head sadly and sighs. Argggggggggg. She is an amazing skater though. She eventually got bumped to second, but she was better. I agree with the judges in her placement, the other girl was amazing and didn’t fall once and I saw her before and I’m very happy for her. But Sasha just has some charm or energy that the others didn’t.
emmmmmmmmm
