Books, birds and booze

I WILL NEVER EVER IN MY LIFE GET RID OF ANY BOOKS EVER AGAIN

Because it's freaking expensive and time-consuming to replace them.

I've been feeling very nostalgic lately and want to revisit the books from my childhood, specifically some books by Enid Blyton. Those Enid Blyton books were my Nancy Drew and Anne of Green Gables; I've read those too ( Read more... )

Okay. Yuletide story is done - thank you god - and I have time to look for Blytons. So, the first run-through of the children's section has produced:

-Ones I'm Happy to Give Away-

The Famous Five:
2: Five Go Adventuring Again
5: Five Go off in a Caravan
6: Five on Kirrin Island Again
7: Five Go off to Camp
8: Five Get into Trouble
10: Five on a Hike Together
11: Five Have a Wonderful Time
12: Five Go down to the Sea
13: Five Go to Mystery Moor
14: Five Have Plenty of Fun
16: Five Go to Billycock [OMG that sounds different now] Hill
17: Five Get into a Fix
18: Five on Finniston Farm
20: Five Have a Mystery to Solve
21: Five Are Together Again

Secret Seven:
1: The Secret Seven

The Four Cousins

-Ones I Am Slightly, but Only Slightly, Less Willing to Give Away-

The Magic Faraway Tree
The Folk of the Faraway Tree
Up the Faraway Tree

The Ship of Adventure
The Island of Adventure
The Circus of Adventure

(Note: If I give anything away, Best Beloved wants to make sure that Famous Five 18 is on the list. There is much hatred in this household for that particular book.)

Obviously, I am missing some; I had the complete set of Famous Fives up to 20, for example. Another trawl of the children's section is in order. But these are what I have now. So. Which ones would you like? Would you like me to fill up a box at random and send it to you? Would you like specific ones to be in there? Let me know.

Oh, and email me your address (I have an LJ email address); it will take me a bit to get it in the mail, because the holidays are not the best time for negotiating with the postal service, but I will get it to you.

I'm impressed you have a children's section, my books are arrange according to the Willy Nilly Classification system

Five Go to Billycock [OMG that sounds different now] Hill

Especially when it comes (heh) rights after Five Have Plenty of Fun. I don't think I've read #18, what is it a hated book in your household?

I'm interested in the Famous Fives and Secret Seven books, and I'm grateful for whichever books you can give away.

I'll send you and email to you. Thank you!
