CHARACTER INFORMATION-
Canon Character and Series: Angelina Durless, Black Butler
In-Game Name: Doctor Angelina Durless (misprinted in the tabloids as ‘Dalles’), aka ‘Madame Red’
Age: 26
Gender: Female
Position & Ship (first and second choice for position please): Passenger or Ivonian Diplomat, Amestris
Appearance: Ann, for the most part, is of average height, weight, and overall appearance.
Unless you count her bright red hair, that is. Angelina was born with truly ‘red’ hair and brown-red eyes. Her features are sharply beautiful, and her hairstyle typically accents this. She is always in a red that matches her hair, earning her the nickname ‘Madame Red’. Ann’s clothing is of the finest make and she carries herself with confidence and grace. She carries nothing that is unessential-that is, anything that isn’t her gloves, fan, handbag, and a dagger of sorts.
Personality: There are two sides to Madame Red. One is the side most people see-the fun-loving, popular, intelligent doctor. She’s the life of any party she attends, can be bit crass, is not afraid to shamelessly grope an attractive man’s behind (sorry, Sebastian), and is a doting aunt. Ann is also a bit of a flirt, but if she means anything seriously is known only to her.
As a girl, Ann was insecure because of her hair until a man complimented her on it. And when that man (who she had fallen in love with) married her sister, Angelina built up the ‘popular’ persona to hide her hurt. Eventually, though, she began to enjoy it and it became part of the real Ann. She loves games, but has a nasty tendency to lose horribly.
Angelina loves children and loathes those who would casually toss them aside, which leads into her other side. As one half of the ‘Jack the Ripper’ duo, Ann can be completely brutal and unrelenting if the life of a child or one she cares for is at stake. It is wise to never even threaten to harm a child in her presence, as her temper is legendary to begin with and it’s possible she’d just lose it.
Abilities/Weapons: Angelina is a doctor, and therefore has all the skills that entails. She carries with her a dagger at all times and can shoot if given a pistol.
How well can your character hack?: She never bothered to learn the skill.
Weaknesses: Angelina’s temper can be a major weakness, as is her love of children. She will never harm a child, which is the reason she’s currently recovering from getting stabbed with a chainsaw.
Which is another weakness. She’s not physically up to par right now, and won’t be for a while.
History: Angelina was born in Ivona a few years after her older sister, Rachel. Growing up, Ann was a shy, bookish young girl who hated her red hair (inherited from her father) and rarely joined Rachel when the elder went out. One day when Ann was fifteen, Rachel dragged her sister from her books to meet a young man, one Vincent Phantomhive. Vincent was very handsome, and Ann was a little embarrassed, especially when he complimented her hair. From that day on, Angelina was smitten with Vincent, and stopped hiding her hair.
Unfortunately for Ann, Rachel and Vincent announced their engagement a short time after Ann was introduced, and again Ann began to hate the color red. However, she loved both her sister and her brother-in-law to be, so she pretended she still loved the color red and wore it all the time, as Vincent had said it looked good on her. Angelina was truly happy at the wedding, since the two people she loved the most were together and happy.
Eventually Ann joined medical school (she was a young nurse at Ciel’s birth) and became a doctor. She married the Baron Burnett, a man who she was fond of and cared for deeply but never loved. The Baron himself didn’t mind that, and they were happy. Angelina frequently went to her sister’s home to visit and play with Ciel and his cousin, Elizabeth. She loved the children, and wanted some of her own.
Shortly before Ciel turned ten, Angelina and her husband were in a carriage accident that killed both the Baron and their unborn child. The damage was so severe that Ann’s womb was removed. Once Ann was out of the hospital and back at work, she found it hard to perform abortions unless there was a viable reason for it. Unfortunately, most of her customers were prostitutes who didn’t want the child as it was a ‘nuisance’; this depressed Ann, and her recovery was slow. Rachel, in an attempt to cheer Ann up, invited her sister to Ciel’s tenth birthday party. However, it wasn’t to be.
The manor had been set on fire before Ann’s arrival, killing Vincent, Rachel, and Ciel (or so Ann thought). This, compiled with everything else, did something to Angelina’s psyche. The next whore who asked for an abortion received it…and then was later killed by Ann, her womb removed. The one following that whore was also killed, and so on.
One night, as Ann was killing another victim, Grell Sutcliffe approached her. She explained what she was doing, and why, and the two redheads began to work together. Grell was later sent by his superior to work for Ann, which just made the murders that much easier.
The pair became known as Jack the Ripper, and for a while Ivona was terrified of them. Eventually, Ciel (who to Ann’s happiness was alive) was put on the case, and for some reason Angelina agreed to help him track the murderer down. At first, everyone believed that another noble was the murderer; however, he was merely a black magic cultist.
A few nights later, Ann and Grell were found out by Ciel and Sebastian. While Grell and Sebastian were occupied, Ann was supposed to kill Ciel. She couldn’t, and Grell turned his chainsaw to her. She was presumed dead.
The only people who knew for a fact that Ann wasn’t dead were Ciel and Sebastian. Ciel, even though his aunt was a murderer, had put Angelina into a hospital. They allowed tabloids to run wild, which ended up with the belief that ‘Angelina Dalles’ was dead. After this, Ciel left his aunt to continue his work.
Recovery was slow, but eventually Ann was able to leave the hospital. Still unable (and unwilling) to return to work, she decided to relax and travel Reial on the airship Amestris, perhaps assisting if they needed it.
