Server Rack

Sep 10, 2007 15:41

We have a server rack (about the size of a hall closet) that needs a new home. I know nothing about except that it is taking up way too much space in my bedroom. I believe Scot is looking to get $50 for it. If you are interested post your questions here and I'll get the answers for you. We will be putting it up on craigslist in the next few

Is it enclosed or a open rack? I'd be willing to buy it.

Thanks, Glenn

It is a 30U HP Cabinet. Stands 63" tall, and is very deep. 29" rail to rail, plus another ~ 6 inches for the cabinet. It is enclosed on the sides, a door on the back, and the front is open. It's very solid, and build to house the heavy 4U & 5U servers. It's on casters, and has an anti-earthquake bracket that slides out the bottom of the front and bolts to the floor so it won't move or fall over in an earthquake. It also has a large power strip running down the back with a 240V plug, and a fan unit build into the top with 2 120mm (I think) fans.

I'm actually looking to sell all of my rack stuff as a package for $100. This includes the cabinet, a 48 port rackmount patch panel, a 24 port dlink 10/100 switch, a couple weird sliding shelves that came with the cabinet, 2 1U computer cases and a lone 2U computer case with PCI riser. None of the cases have machines in them.

Let me know if you are interested at scot_anderson@hotmail.com. I'm going to try and take pictures and get it up on craigslist by the end of the weekend.

Oh, the anti-earthquake bracket doubles as leverage to keep the thing upright if you have one of those heavy servers on pull-out rails. :)
