Well, I learnt something today.
Turns out that P's brother can't help with the move because, and I quote, he "doesn't approve of cohabitation."
Oh, and has P "ASKED PERMISSION FROM HIS MINISTER?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?"
PERMISSION?
*PERMISSION*?????????????????????
I'm at the point of laughing rather than being pissed off now, especially as we both agree that it sounds a lot *lot* like the sis-in-law and her church has put its ten cents in - but I'm fuming. Because we don't need this. Yes, it's been sudden - we've known each other about 6 months. But is that any else's business but our own? Even adding the religion aspect, its no one's business but ours and God's.
I don't deny his brother or anyone else the right to have an opinion on the matter - don't get me wrong there. What I *object* to is the moral "holier than thou" stance - I've been on the wrong end of that before, and I'm certainly not going there again.
P and I are fine - he was worried, and upset, but we've talked, and, I think, are stronger for it. It's our first "us against the world" situation after all. A test, if you like, of whether we'd crack at the first pressure. Hope we've passed.
Just makes me so *cross*.
