sophomoredom.

So basically, I have been away from the internet for... a very long time. I'm very sorry to everybody I haven't gotten a chance to talk to! I miss you all ;_; But for whatever reason, my schedule is completely out-of-control. Here we go:

07:00 - wake up. I'm actually lucky that I can get up this late, the public schools have to be at the bus stop by 6.
08:00 - get to school. Classes start at 8:15.
03:30 - get to field hockey practice. Classes end at 3:15.
05:30 - get out of practice. In theory. On a normal day, we let out at 5:45. On game days, we get back at any time between 6 and 10. Usually closer to 10. On Wednesdays, I have piano from 6 to 7.
(whenever I get home) - dinner. Piano/violin practice if I get the chance. Homework. "Doing nothing" quota, usually filled by lying on my bed playing Tetris/rereading Furuba because I'm too tired to do anything else.
Lather, rinse, repeat. --

For some reason, this takes up all my time. And I swear I'm not an overacheiver.

But on top of that, it's kind of been a crappy year so far in general for several reasons

1) HONORS GEOMETRY. Well, first we find out that they took away our really special class, which was supposed to be geometry and precalc in one year because our school's system has only just now recognized that some people actually would be in precalc if we went to public school or pretty much any other private school out there. But then on top of that, we get the single. worst. teacher. EVER. I mean, it was bad enough that the only explanations/notes she gave us were ones straight out of the book. It was bad enough that she would screw us out of entire letter grades when she would grade our tests. It was bad enough that she would get really basic, essential stuff wrong. It was bad enough that she assumed that you were stupid if you asked a question. It was bad enough that she never came to class with a lesson plan. It was bad enough that she gossiped about how "badly" the other classes she taught were doing. What REALLY ticked me off was that she managed to find out the thing that annoys me the most within 24 hours of knowing me--singling me out because apparently I'm "smarter" than the rest of the class. She would honestly ask me to explain stuff to the class because she couldn't, and she would ask me whether she should give points to people on tests for questions that were vague. GYAAAH.

That's finally been resolved now, though, because enough of us--as in, pretty much everybody she taught (geometry, honors geometry, calculus, and algebra 3)--went to the upper school head with our concerns, and now she's been temporarily replaced with the chem teacher who retired last year. She can't escape us! XD So I'm still a little ticked off that we didn't get an apology when we were told we would be getting a new teacher, but that we were admonished to not think we were pulling a fast one on everybody and that we shouldn't be celebrating that we got rid of a teacher. Grrr. Of course we'd feel bad about her! She broke down crying when she found out! She was a nice person! But we ACTUALLY NEED TO LEARN GEOMETRY, HMMM?

2) John. He has arthritis, which developed from his psoriasis. He should be okay--it's fairly simple to keep under control, but he does need to take shots every week for the next year, and he has a serious phobia of needles. Like, he almost passed out and had a half-hour panic attack before mom could give him the first dose. He can run, but he's not allowed to play sports. So I guess it's okay.

3) Chemistry. Okay, the last chem teacher taught the class for, like... at least 15 years, I'm thinking over 20. But what she did was give no homework, but give a quiz every day. This seemed like a good idea. Until our teacher this year, who was so cool when he taught us algebra in 8th grade, decided he needed to make us respect him more and make his class more strict (which, honestly, he could have used back in 8th grade)... by giving us craploads of homework... ON TOP OF the daily quizzes. ><; grrr...

And finally, Rocket, my cat. He got really sick recently--he had some sort of wound on his head that got infected. That part was okay, we got him treated with antibiotics and everything, but... the stress mutated some sort of dormant virus that can be found in most cats into a lethal one. It messed up his nervous system--he couldn't walk--and then he died on Friday.

Rocket was a really great cat. Our neighbors gave him to us as a sort of present back when I was 7. John would always carry him around in ways that probably weren't healthy for him, but made him the nicest, most docile guy around. Sure, he would swipe at you if he decided you hadn't pet him for long enough, but he would follow my dad especially around like a dog. He was the sweetest thing.

We still have Jet, Rocket's sister, Smitty Smat/Stray/Sadie and Tiger/Kitten/Tigger (my family can't really decide on names...) whom we've adopted since, plus the two dogs, Annie and Pudge, but it's still sad. Cats usually live a lot longer than 8 years. And Jet especially, even though she was always sort of a rebel loner, has been really sad now that he's gone--gone, but not forgotten. Rest in peace, Rockie.

Anyway, I'm done with the emo and stress for now, so I should be going back to nice, normal, graphic and fic posts, starting with the Rurouni Kenshin wallpapers I promised a while back (and siriusfan's HP fic, heheheh ^^)

Hope y'all have a nice day :) And maybe I'll be able to catch up with everybody soon.
