Holly: There is a new homeschooled girl in my dance class. She is tall, thin and shapely with long, curly, gorgeous blonde hair. She has THE perfect technique, etc, Robert is gaga over her. She is only 14. GUESS what her name is.
Ayla.
Anecdote numero dos: Zack, La, Joey, La's ex-boyfriend Jeff and I were eating lunch together. Now, I have to explain Jeff just a little, though he is rather unexplainable. Nick, you met him. Jeff is the most even-tempered person I have ever met in my life. I cannot imagine him getting angry, crying, or yelling, either in pain or pleasure, ever. He always talks in a slow, quiet voice with a slight lisp. He makes me feel like an emotional tycoon talking at Alvin the Chipmunk speed. He is of medium build with thick, blondish brown hair, blue eyes and thick eyebrows. He has a sweet, sort of lop-sided grin that can slowly turn maniacal. He wears one of two outfits, generally-- either a black, long-sleeve dress shirt (buttoned all the way to the top, which makes him resemble a member of the clergy), or a white shirt with a suede vest over it. Both with cargo pants. Laura informs me that he HAS other clothes--his two mothers and his sister make sure of that--but he doesn't care to wear them. Jeff is a brilliant artist and a talented actor. He is also darkly hilarious. He makes jokes in the same slow, quiet tone as his regular speech (sort of poor example: Laura and I were discussing opera and how it's not our favorite. Jeff mumbled airily, "Opera's not as bad as it sounds...") Anyhoo, today we were speaking about birthdays for some reason, and La said, "Oh, Jeff, tell them what your grandmother bought you for your birthday." Jeff turned to me and Zack and said, "It's a Hello Kitty sewing machine. At the bottom it says, 'Sewing pretty with Hello Kitty'. I've only been practicing with it; I haven't sewn any real cloth yet."
Made my day.
Oh, and on the way to Brit Lit, which Jeff and La are both in, he was carrying an empty fishbowl. I don't know why. In any case, J, L, Z and I sang the Firefly theme song most of the way to class. Jeff did the beatboxing.
