To be honest, I'm writing this journal in a large part for myself, since this will probably be a year that I won't want to forget! Long Lost friend -- who I found at a surprise attendance at a wedding... I'm going to friend you... so that I won't be an LJ stalker -- and perhaps I'll even get around to emailing you, as I'm such a hoe for not doing it sooner. :>) But I thought I should let you know that I found your journal, and I am eager to read all about the year.

Phew that was a lot, but it certainly does sound exciting, and pretty, and tasty ;) Maybe if you drew a picture of many animals and put big Xs through them while pointing to your mouth he might understand? Supposedly this is how you say "vegetarian" in Chinese:
素食主义者
Maybe if you show that to him he might get it? I'm not sure really, just using a free online translator. Miss you Linnea, but hope you're having a blast!

Hey Hey! Linnea, this is Kat Field. Guess what, I'll be in China this year too. I have a teaching job in Zhengzhou. It's the capital of Henan province. It's a very small world. My good friend Cathy is good friends with Becky who is teaching in China with you. Also, I had coffee this afternoon with Margaret Furman. We weren't sure if you were in Becky's program, but today Becky emailed me and gave me your journal address thing. So, of course, you have an open invitation to come stay with me in Zhengzhou if you get a chance. My friends that I am teaching with have a sort of competition for who can have the most visitors. You are most welcome. I've been emailing with Becky so I'm sure we'll be in touch. She has my email address if you want to shoot me a line. I'll arrive in a week. Good luck!

Yeah Becky told me about this - how crazy! Well, we have a ton of room here in our apartments, so feel free to stop by here! PLUS I will only be teaching two days a week (it's just the way my classes fell this term!) so if you have free time we should go explore China together! Good luck getting ready!
