Today was alright. I really hate first day classes though. They're so boring. Like today, I went to my Math for Elementary School Teachers class and they guy teaching it spent the whole hour preachin a freakin sermon on stuff I've already heard a million times before from all the other math teachers in my entire life of education. It was the big "treat others with respect and don't be afraid to ask questions because there's no such thing as a stupid question" talk. Except he dragged it out for an hour and 15 minutes. I wanted to bang my head repeatedly against the wall, I was so agonizingly bored. He's an ex-pilot in the air force, and before he started teaching, he worked out at the conoco plant. He also has a really obnoxious sounding speech impediment. He says the sh sound instead of the s sound. Not exactly the type of person I'd like to be teaching me MATH, my WORST SUBJECT. He doesn't look like a good explainer. In order for me to understand math, I need a teacher who's good at explaining things and breaking them down into baby steps for me. I dunno. Maybe I'm judging this guy too quickly. He hasn't started teaching anything yet. I could be wrong about him.
My piano class is going to be fun. It's taught by Mrs. Bellew, who is like the Mamaw of the Music Department. She's a very cheerful little old lady. Our class is made up of 11 girls (including me) and one guy. TEN of them are nursing majors. The guy's a history major. I'm probably the only one who's actually going to benefit from the class.
I turned in my student worker card today. STILL haven't met the new librarian and STILL don't know when I start working!
