#195 The one with the most ridiculous Topmodel episode yet
I'm sorry to drop this one on your flist, I swore to myself to just indulge in the guilty pleasure that is America's next Topmodel, but this weeks episode deserves an entry for it's pure moments of slight insanity. I go so far to say I think it's even fun if you don't watch the show at all^^
Most of the credit goes of course to creator/ex super model/woman who makes me question her a lot Tyra Banks.
She wrote this book Modelland...and it's really bad (no I haven't read it, but I trust Ing&Maya from ohaidesk and they say it's bananas). She just doesn't know that and praises it on her show so people buy it and read it. In the last season she made this fashion editorial that could've been cool if it wouldn't be connected to the book. This season she went further and acted somewhat like she believes this book is real. So she went to the modelhouse and had to male models with her, who of course were now called Bestosteros like in her book. And they took it with grace to be named like that. So now the girls had to get super powers (because super models apperently have super powers because both have super in it). To make it sound extra special they get so called Intoxibella names (Intoxibella was the name Tyra created for Modelland, because saying model would be boring). And the girls were all excited of course. And the names are ridiculous when you think about the fact that those girls got some sort of badge with it and were wearing capes!

That 30-Never thing is actually straight out of the book! And because I can't put it better here the perfect conversation from ohaidesk about these kinds of super power names Miss Tyra made up:
Ing: Worst. Power. Ever. And one of them has SEDUCTION. Except it's spelled like SEDUKSHEEON for some reason. SEDUKSHEEON sounds like a pokemon.
Maya: I CHOOSE YOU SEDUKSHEEON
Ing: SEDUSKHEEON USED HAIR-FLIP. IT'S SUPER EFFECTIVE. THE CREEPY MAN IN THE FRONT NOW WANTS TO SIN WITH YOU.
Tyra rounded that up with showing off her Harvard degree in business. I'm still not sure if she got it because she worked for it like you know a normal student does, or if she was just given the thing after three years so it was over. I know she gets in lots and lots of money, but she did this way before that degree so I don't get why she needed to make it. Because I don't think anybody who saw this episode from beginning to end could take somebody as an academic person who gives out Intoxibella names.
Finishing off this episode was new judge Kelly Cutrone. From what wikipedia and Tyra say this woman is some big fish in the PR fashion business. So be it. She also is rude. At least in my opinion. It's one thing to be tough, she was just more than that. they had this team challenge thing and if I had her googling over my shoulder and being all bitchy because I trust my team mates to do the right thing without checking back on them every 5 minutes I'd have been so pissed by the end of the day. After all she is a judge and the girls fear that and don't speak up. So I was thrilled to see drama queen from make overs Louise being a) sort of passive-agressive when Kelly got all bitchy because she was running around on set (because she had not much time left for her shooting and running was in order to save bloody time!) and b) for actually saying right into Kellys face at judging that Kelly was rude to her. She quit pretty much after Tyra gave her a speech about the ranking in fashion and that a publicist is higher than a model and that she should basically shut up because she is on the bottom ladder here. Not gonna lie Louise had sort of an attitude, but she also showed some self-respect up there. And quite honestly, if somebody approached me the way Kelly did (she was talking to them on the challenge like they were idiots really and didn't let them do their thing) I'd develop an attitude too.
