What’s your character’s wand core?
Veela Hair (there’s actually sort of a funny story behind that… One Veela Francis met sort of met her match and well, he managed to snag a hair from it. Win win situation really)
How did your character’s sorting ceremony go?
It went rather well! According to Francis at least. There was some trouble with the hat squirming on his head but he figured that was just from having to sit on hair that really should never be covered by a hat. The sorting hat on the other hand, refuses to ever touch that disgusting mind again.
Strongest subject? Weakest subject?
Potions and Divination have always been his strong suit (both come in handy on many occasions, if you have to ask what though, you’re probably better off not knowing). But the one subject that has always escaped him was Transfiguration. Concentration? Who needed that! Letting your mind wander to more interesting things was much more entertaining!
Does your character have a familiar? How did they get them?
Yes he does. He has a cute little bird named Pierre that delivers notes for him whenever he feels the need to communicate with either another teacher or perhaps even a failing student. And no, contrary to the rumor going around he does not lace these notes with a certain love potion of his own design. Okay maybe a little
Are they a pureblood? Halfblood? Muggleborn? Any interesting stories behind that?
Pureblood and proud of it. He might flaunt it a bit, or a lot, but he has a good reason to! He is one of the last out there after all and that’s as good as being the son of a king! But, honestly? He doesn’t really mind muggles or halfbloods too much. Only if they rub him the wrong way and he needs something insulting to say.
Would your character ever be tempted to be a deatheater?
Of course not! And if you asked that to him personally he’d probably be rather insulted. He’d never be one of those violent good-for-nothings. Besides, that requires too much dedication which he simply does not have.
What are your character’s thoughts on Quidditch? Are they on the team?
No. Simply, non. He wasn’t part of the team when he was a student and never was very interested in the sport. It was too much of a hassle to follow and every team cheated anyway. Mindless sport really.
What’s your character’s favourite spell?
Francis isn’t too much of a fan of spells, though there is one that he uses quite a bit. “Rosicus” has made a few women swoon after all. How can you now when you’re presented a bouquet of roses out of midair?
What’s your character’s favourite candy? Favourite Bertie Bott’s flavour?
Licorice wands (just watch him eat one, you’ll never eat one yourself again). The other? You don’t want to know.
Does your character care about house rivalries?
He used to, being Slytherin and all- but since he graduated he claims to be past that (especially with his nephew being in Gryffindor and all). But sometimes old rivalries come up and he’ll choose to be on the Slytherin side, just as old times.
When your character is faced with a boggart, what would it change into (i.e. their worse fear)? What would be their Patronus?
If there is one thing Francis is afraid of, it’s of being alone. There was a time once, when he had to face a boggart for one of his classes in Hogwarts- it was a time he would rather not relive. Instead of changing into some terrifying beast everything had just disappeared and he found himself quickly in a room of nothingness. Needless to say, he cursed that boggart as fast as he could, though he was definitely shaken up for days to come. A horse for Patronus, it would be a rather noble creature~
If your character met Harry Freaking Potter, what would they do?
Most likely? Try to charm him into bed. Harry Potter does have rather nice eyes after all.
What part of Hogwarts does your character spend the most time in?
His personal quarters. In the dungeon. Where else? Though admittedly, he’s usually not alone~
Can your character see Thestrals?
No, he can’t, and frankly he refuses to believe they exist. Though… it might just be to spite a certain English student of his that needs to be picked on every once and a while.
What would your character see in the Mirror of Erised?
What would Francis see? Why the most passionate and loving experience he’s ever had in life with someone whose beauty can only astound! Or just give him a harem. Both work.
What’s your character’s detention record?
It’s quite a good read, really. Inappropriate conduct, misuse of spells, misuse of potions, general tomfoolery, and there was that one Halloween where he snuck one of his newly created love potions into the drinks and made everyone hot and heavy for the whole night. It was a very good night, completely worth having to clean every single sucker on the giant squid.
Has your character ever done something to lose points for their house? What was the largest amount of points that they lost and how did they lose them?
See above. He lost all of Slytherin’s points in that one night.
If your character became an Animagus, what animal would they turn into?
No. As much as a certain Englishman wants you to think it is not a frog. A Cock.
What do you think your character’s future career in the Wizarding World would be?
Future career? Why, he’s living it! He’s very happy where he is and with his title as potions master, now if only that silly little Headmistress would show him a little more good attention then he would be living a dream.
