Hypertext makes the world go 'round

So, early yesterday evening I Stumbled upon this delightful compilation of "Twilight" mockery and critique (man but I have trained my stumble button well). For those blessedly sadly ignorant of the "Twilight" craze, it's a pretty fun introdruction; for those already initiated, it might have a couple you haven't seen before.

Of course, in my perusal of the "Twilight" wiki, I found links to two essays about the Nice Guy. The first is a rebuttal to a craigslist post titled "What Happened to All the Nice Guys?" (from "A Recovering Nice Guy"). The second is a flat-out rant about the difference between Nice Guys and nice guys, and it made me feel warm and fuzzy inside. Neither is a dispassionate and even-handed treatment of relations between the sexes, so... don't go looking for that.

ETA: I almost forgot! The Five Geek Social Fallacies linked in the Nice Guy rant is also a good read, though I don't think "geek" is really the correct identifier - it's being used as shorthand for people who have experienced painful exclusion and are less than self-aware about their social interactions. Basically it includes some ideas about friendship that are good in moderation but not when taken to an extreme.

See how productive I was yesterday?!
