Сочинение....
Каждому студенту задумана домашняя работа. Моё задание было написать сочинение на свободную тему. Обязательным условием являлось определенное окончание: "He was far, far away at last.". Вот что из этого получилось на работе:
Time passes at different speed according to what we are doing. Some people dislike their job and every working day seems to them long like a life. They try to leave it and go home as far as they can. But James spent a lot of extra-hours at his office. Sometimes he even slept there on the old black sofa. He has worked there for two years as an expert in marketing and has always done all his work in time. James’s boss Olivia was too strong to him. She gave him a lot of hard work and demanded results in deadlines. She wasn’t as clever as he and always humiliated him. Possibly, deeply in her heart she loved James, but couldn’t admit it.
That Monday might be too strong for him, because they both were going to the head office in London to present their new project to the Board of Directors. James had been working on this project about a year and successful presentation was his chance to promote himself.
At 7 am he was in airport. He called Olivia twice but she didn’t answer. As he knew, their plain took off at 11 am. James was a bit nervous because he didn’t have ticket or passenger coupon. It was time for registration. He called her again. She answered him in a strange voice. She was wonder and informed him that Monday was her vocation day. Furthermore, in her opinion the project wasn’t too good to present it and she was going to cancel the meeting. She also said that it wasn’t necessary to inform him about her decision. James was angry. Olivia always put him into a situation.
James had a difficult choice. As a result he decided to present his project without his boss. Olivia was shocked but agreed. She considered that his project had no perspectives.
James bought a ticket and flew of alone. When he arrived in London he took a taxi and reached the office at 3 pm. Chairman of the Board of Directors was surprised when saw him but gave 10 minutes for preparing the presentation.
When James produced the main idea of his project Chairman interrupted him. In his opinion it was very interesting and innovative idea. The project was great. He promised to organize a meeting and advance James’s project there. Also Chairman suggested him receiving a new post of Deputy Director of marketing in London office. It was an unexpected suggestion for James. He thought about two of three minutes and agreed.
A week after Olivia understood that she had two greatest mistakes in her life. The first was that she had allowed James to make that presentation alone, and second - that she loved him and didn’t tell him about it. She called to the head office and arranged a meeting with James on Friday.
The day of meeting came. At 8 pm she was near his office and decided to call him. She took her mobile phone and dialed his number. He answered in a strange voice and informed her that he was still on a business trip and sent her a massage about canceling their meeting. Also he added that he couldn’t see her about two or three months and interrupted the call.
She was disappointed. She hoped that he would call her after some time, but he didn’t.
She called him again and he told just his new job was perfect.
James was happy without Olivia. He was far, far away from her at last.
