This was it! This was the night that Nepeta was due to surface. When she would receive her lusus and find the perfect place to live, having survived the trials and proven her worth.
Except...this cave seems different somehow. And there's no sign of a lusus, hers or otherwise. So slowly, on shaky legs, she makes her way out alone - out into the big wide world of Alternia. At least, that's what she thinks. She tries to cry out to her lusus but no sound comes out - she is here and she is alone. And if she doesn't think fast, she's going to get culled.
