hollowing out a hole in the water

Who: limu_o_pele and sideromelane
What: Asha finally turning to her brother for support.
Where: The Xavier Mansion to wherever Bowen's been holed up.
When: Friday, day 5 of the Friendly Reminder event, after Charles Xavier's death.
Warnings: Standard event warnings.

She can't stay. The Xavier mansion isn't safe anymore, and Asha had gone there for safety - solace in the company of friends. But Charles isn't there anymore, is dead, killed, and the grief his students (family) are feeling pours thickly into the air. There's nothing she can do for them, nothing she can do, and staying would only see her already-frail control collapse.

There's only one place left to go, one person left to rely on, and she has tried so hard not to lean on him, to give him room. Her presence upsets him, to be his sister and not at the same time, and she doesn't want to hurt her brother, wants him to be happy. But who else is there for her to turn to? Family was all she'd known before she'd been brought to Promenade. Family was everything.

Bowen.

Asha knows where he is, always knows where he is, how he's feeling, that he's safe. She has no weapons as she leaves the mansion, left their mother's shotgun there, had no shells left for it anyway. She runs, as fast as she can, dodging every shadow she sees. She's experienced the dangers of this darkness already, her blood's still dried on her skin, but that doesn't matter to her now. She'll cross the entire city if she needs to.
