What: The mansion's defenses fall. Monsters, chaos.
Where: X-Mansion
When: 9/23; Day 5 (Friday "Night")
Warnings: CHARACTER DEATH. Also blood, violence, and heartbreak. Lots of it.
Five days. The madness and death had lasted five straight days with no end. Even with Aqua and Asha's help against the wraith that haunted his footsteps, it was pressing well beyond Charles' limits. Even though he pushed against the city's natural telepathic field at night, the sheer amount of terror, suffering, and death had taken it's toll on his own ability. Raven had gotten the brunt of most of it, which he promised to make it up to her once this was over. It would end--at least that was what he was telling himself. By day five, he wasn't even sure if it would end anymore. He had lost friends to the monsters. Everyone had. He tried to pretend it didn't bother him, but it did, and it was clear to everyone around him.
He'd mourn them later, if they never came back. He had to protect his students and the people in the mansion. The living were the priority.
Charles' head snapped up as the boards over the windows cracked. Well, it was only a matter of time, he supposed. Dreaming up supplies in the city didn't work properly so the wood was probably rotten in some way. Charles took a deep breath and backed himself out of the room in his wheelchair, pressing his hand to the side of his head. Telepathy was going to be faster than actually posting to the network.
Havok. Banshee. Mystique. The mansion's been breached. Charles' sent the thoughts to Alex, Sean and Raven respectively. Billy. Teddy. Asha. Get down into the underground bunker! They're starting to come in through the west side. I'll meet you there shortly.
That was if he could get his stupid wheelchair to move fast enough to get down to the bunker. Charles was ready to hold off the monsters as long as he could for the others in the mansion to get to safety. His X-Men would be at the mansion soon enough.
