WHO: Alex Summers and YOU!! WHAT: Saving people, killing shit, hanging with the bros WHEN: Friendly Reminder event day 1-3 WHERE: all over promenade! WARNINGS: Injuries, monster death blood and gore.
[Asha's abilities are not suited for this sort of combat - people, maybe, if she'd been trained to manipulate minds the way her mother could - but the minds of monsters weren't accessible to her as anything more than a dark sense of chaotic rage.
She has to fall back on what she has been trained in. She has a shotgun shouldered, another strapped to her back, and so far they haven't failed her. She hasn't been doing nearly as much damage as Alex, though, and when she spots him she stops to watch for a moment.
It's only a moment, though, because then there's one of those clawed hands reaching out of the ground near his foot. She doesn't bother calling a warning, just lifts the shotgun and blows it away before it can touch him.]
[Asha tilts her head slightly, like a shrug. She couldn't have just watched and let it hurt him.]
The larger ones are easier to anticipate.
[She states it calmly as she approaches, reloading the shotgun as she walks, knows to keep it ready. It's quickly done, and she stops to stand at Alex's side.]
Then find someone who needs protecting, instead of playing guessing games.
[She shifts the shotgun off her shoulder, swinging it up in time to catch the first couple of locusts as they appear over the roofline. She needs to reload, though. Not as efficient a weapon as Alex's abilities, but she'd already told him they were impressive.]

Hey watch what you're--
[He turns and sees Asha, though, and the remnants of an arm. Letting out a breath, he nods]
Thanks. Those fuckers keep nearly getting me.

Your abilities are impressive.

[He shrugs, still not good quick compliments, and not in the mood to cover up his insecurity with cockiness]
Thanks. Don't feel like I'm making much of a dent in their numbers.

[She smiles slightly. Growing up climbing treacherous rockfaces, she didn't truly think about watching her feet, but she was always sure of them.]
More than I am able to. They have no minds to touch.

[Alex frowns at that. If that's the case it means Charles's powers are useless, too.]
This is insane.

[The darkness in the mind could be deep and treacherous.
A loud buzzing starts to become audible nearby, and Asha looks up at the sky, has dealt with the locusts before.]
We should move.

[Being vaguely suicidal is something he's good at.]

[And it's clear from her tone which she thinks he'll be if he stays out there.]
The flying ones swarm. It's best to find cover until they pass.

[He rolls his eyes.]
I know. I do have a brain.

Win what, exactly? The right to stand out here and fight a completely unnecessary fight?

[It's simple math for him.]

[Alex isn't going to stay where he isn't wanted, and he starts to take off in a different direction]
