Day 2, Outside the Xavier Mansion

[Teddy wanted to stay by Billy's side. He wanted to be there when he woke up. After the earlier scare, he was more worried about his boyfriend than he had been since the Cube. But it wouldn't be good if the monsters got in the manor. So Hulkling's out front, punching and smashing through what looks like several put together body parts all bent on trying to tear him to shreds. There are a few other creatures in the mix but Teddy was focusing on the ones that were trying to tear their way into the mansion. Every blow sends monsters flying, Hulkling showing off that super strength.]

[Alex did have to give Tenka some credit--it did sometimes make him feel like something is wrong when he normally wouldn't. So he heads back to the mansion, becoming increasingly alarmed at how many creatures are around.

Jumping over those damn Cracks in the ground, he's trying to keep the skeletons off himself, blasting as he goes.

Once he gets within sight he can see Teddy--Hulking just wreaking havoc all around him. Taking a quick glance down to make sure none of the skeleton hands were around, Alex let off a large plasma blast, trying to clear some of the monsters away.]

Teddy! Is everyone okay?!

[Teddy's not worried about the hands. He can snap them as easily as he would sticks of balsa wood. He punches a giant centipede that was clinging to someone's dead body, sending it flying over the gates to splatter somewhere else before he notices the blasts. He tenses at first and then lets out a little relieved sigh when he sees it's Alex. And an okay Alex at that.]

Billy got hurt. Bad. He's inside resting.

Shit--really?

[Alex frowns, and immediately the feeling of 'guilt' starts to slide through the Tenka, even as he's blasting at a few more things, trying to get closer]

I'm sorry. I should have been here.

Yes.

[There's a pause where Teddy just tears a creature in half.]

Its alright. We were ambushed. Complete surprise.

[redhotsummers]

[Alex doesn't care. If he could be in two places, three places at once, he would be. He knows he can't save everyone. But if he can't protect his friends, what good is he for?]

Things are insane all over the place--saved some kid from getting their legs ripped off--

[He ducks some creature flying over his head, taking the moment to aim before blasting it away]

I just--shit why won't these things stop!

[Alex wants to stay at the mansion, but he knows he's the only one of the mutants right now that can do anything worthwhile on the outside.]

I know. They even got into our place of solace and our apartments.

[Teddy scowls as he breaks a creature's metal bondings apart. Tossing the two pieces aside, he moves a bit closer to Alex.]

They probably won't stop until that voice that started all this sto-

[Teddy's cut off by something rather shocking. One of those giant corpse-clinging centipedes managed to surprise him and he's got a claw sticking through his stomach now. Teddy swings a massive fist to knock the creature away before falling to one knee as he pulls the now broken off claw out of himself.]

Dammit...

Teddy!

[Alex bolts to his side, blasting away a few more bugs to give himself some time. He skids to his knees, touching Teddy.]

Shit shit, I'm sorry. I--you gonna be okay?

[Teddy glances up slowly, realizing it's Alex thanks to the warmth from the contact. He's got a hand pressed over the wound, blood with a slight green tint to it slipping between the fingers.]

Y-yeah...I just need a minute. Organs moved out of the way but...damn...went clean through.

[He takes his hand away slowly, peering down at the wound. It is clean through but right before their eyes, it's shrinking and healing.]

[Alex raises his eyebrows.]

That's your mutation?

[Teddy cringes, letting his body shift itself back into proper places internally.]

One of the alien species I am...the Skrull, are all shapeshifters. I'm...a bit different due to being part Kree too. My organs move on their own to keep me safe and I can regenerate a bit faster.

[redhotsummers]

Just don't--fuck don't scare me like that.

[Just then Alex gets pulled backwards.]

Fuck!

[Twisting his body he sees one of the skeleton arms grabbing at him. These were the things that were going to get him in the end if he wasn't careful. He blasted down his body, getting his leg free with a frown.]

Alex!

[As soon as Alex is free from the hand, Teddy is reaching out to pull him back towards him. The wound's healed already, just leaving a hole in Teddy's costume.]

[redhotsummers]

These fuckers keep getting me!

[Alex growls, kicking himself out of the hole with Teddy's help. They are the only thing that Alex is really struggling to fight.]

I have your back. They won't get either of us if we watch out for one another.

[The skeleton hands were no concern to Teddy. He could snap them like twigs. He was very concerned for Alex though.]

I wish I had better control. I bet the Havok you know can shot plasma from his feet.

[He stood up, dusting himself off.]
