[Moar scares-- goodie. He notices her presence a few seconds before she speaks, whirling round and almost summoning the real thing; and feeling pretty stupid for doing so.]
[Ven...feels weird. It's a familiar kind of weird, mind you, but it's also the kind of weird that should be impossible, because the only other person who feels like this is Caerwyn.
[Ventus shrugs, thinking for a moment. It can't hurt, right?]
[And so he summons his own keyblade, holding it out for her to see.]
A real Keyblade is special. Not everyone can use one, and each Keyblade can only be wielded by one person. It chooses you. It's augments magic, and has the power to unlock the heart. It...It has a life of it's own.
[He's trying to think back to lazy, summer days. Where Eraqus would lecture them under one of the big oak trees, and he inevitably fell asleep.]
[He...shifts under her gaze, almost nervous. The people in Promenade all seemed to have such great abilities-- and sometimes that made it hard to hide things. Could...could she tell he wasn't-?]
[Caught out. Ventus looks utterly alarmed, then defeated. Tired and just plain scared to death. He doesn't want to think it over, why he's like this. Has already spent so much timing thinking about his existence, and how different the reality is from what he'd first thought.]
[...No, she hadn't expected this to be so uncomfortable for Ventus. It makes her feel a little guilty, if only because this wasn't something she had planned on.]
...A key.

Well, sort of. A Keyblade.
Reply
...Seriously.

[Say it with him now. Keyblade.]
Reply
Well, at least most people don't expect getting whacked to death with a giant key.

It's not really meant to just bash people over the head...

How on earth can a mortal be pure light?]
So what's it for?

[She can get it. "Unlock the heart" was relatively vague, but she's used to vague -- that's what made things powerful back home, anyway.]
Guess that makes you a special snowflake.

Eheh, I guess? I know others who have Keyblades, too.

[You bet your ass she can tell.]

Please don't tell anyone...
