Mask on and a coffee in hand, Teddy's already at the cafe. In his human appearance and his uniform, he's just lost in thought at first. Thinking about the odd place they're stuck and some of the new people he's met there, he even forgets his drink for a bit. When a bit of light reflects off Kyle's pencil, Teddy's attention was caught.

The blond looked over his shoulder and smiled when he saw the sketchbook. Craning his neck a bit, he tried to get a look at what Kyle was drawing. Teddy was just curious.

At that moment, Kyle was twirling the pencil a bit, staring at the sketch in progress as if it would just jump out at him with ideas on how to detail it further. He let out a small sigh, taking a sip of coffee when he looked to the blond, waving with the hand that was currently holding the pencil.

Teddy jumped when he was caught staring, smiling back sheepishly. He gave a wave back before turning to face the man fully. "Hi. Sorry for staring, just checking out your art. It's really good."

"It's alright, honestly. You get used to that sort of thing after a while when you do this sort of thing." Kyle let out a small laugh at that, waving a dismissive hand.

"But thanks - I've had a lot of practice, and I used to do comics for a magazine or two, so I've definitely been around the block when it comes to art."

Teddy perked up a bit at the mention of Kyle's previous work, a smile spreading across his face. "You used to do comics? That is awesome!" he grinned.

"Oh, sorry," Teddy offered a hand. "I'm Teddy. It's a pleasure to meet you."

"Yeah - nothing real major, just a couple ongoing small strips." And that was a while back already, before Terry was beaten into a coma and Kyle ended up leaving Earth for a time to clear his head and try to keep people safe from that whole fiasco -

He shook his head lightly. Now definitely wasn't the time to be thinking about that whole incident. That just brought back a lot of painful memories that he didn't want to have to re-experience.

But Kyle ended up taking Teddy's hand with a smile. "I'm Kyle. Nice to meet you, Teddy."

"Still cool that you had that job," Teddy remarked. "Sorry, I'm a bit of a comic nerd," he admitted.

"So what are you working on now?"

"S'alright, I'm still one. But right now I'm just working on some sketches for fun, see if I can get back into the groove at all, y'know?"

Teddy nodded. "Makes sense. Got to keep skills sharp and in the right place mentally to give it your best work."

"Exactly! Plus ... there's not much else to do around here, honestly, so I gotta figure out something to do to keep my mind occupied. Change of scenery might also help, so here I am." Kyle took a pull from his coffee, hiding a small grin behind the cup. "I'm just glad it's free refills, otherwise I'd have one hell of a tab right now."

"There's not?" Teddy frowned a bit. "What is there to do in this crazy city?" he hadn't explored everywhere yet. "I can see how a change of scenery might help. Free apartments are nice but they are pretty boring," he smiled. The comment about coffee got a laugh from the blond and he nodded. "Glad to know we're safe from tabs from hell."

"At least for me, anyway. Then again, I've been trying to figure out a few things first, so it's probably different for someone else." No contact from his fellow Lanterns after a while did worry him, but there wasn't much he could do about it other than hope for the best and maybe one of them could warn the Guardians about this.

"Though I don't know how well it'll work out for those of us that are caffeine junkies - or worse."

"What sort of stuff do you like to do then?" Teddy was curious but also hoping that there were some things in the city to do. "Like how to get back home?" he asked with a more serious expression. "Been trying to figure that out myself...and so far nothing," he sighed.

"Worse?"
