The Dark Yuugi had been exploring the city, when he came across this town that seemed out of place. It had to be a key point of this game, or so he had thought. He decided to see what all he could find, but so far, all he had found was a single boy talking to himself.

"All of it except for the people." He answered, though the question wasn't directed at him.

Ventus has been to so many places, that a smal doubletake at Dark Yuugi's appearence, and he's-- no, not quite comfortable. There's a little something else there, past the appearence and further within that makes Ventus feel like shrinking back, like a candle from the darkness.

"You sure? Everyone you meet- you've met, they're definitely real?" It's what he's been wondering the most, caught up in the confliction between which world is real and which one isn't. What about Terra and Aqua?

"Not all of them." He answered. He didn't seem to mind Ven shrinking back from him- He was used to people his age being scared. He was, after all, the Duel King, the King of Games. He usually only came out to duel, but even just being around Yuugi, he could see when people were intimidated by his reputation.

"A game will have its NPCs, after all."

"NPCs?" That doesn't sound good. His heart sinks a little, although the responses given are of a relaxed enough nature for him to approach, albeit shyly. "What's an NPC?"

He thought for a moment, trying to explain. "Puppets, controlled by the one who runs this world."

Ventus' expression at the knowledge is completely and utterly devastated. NPCs?! Puppets. How would one even know who was and who wasn't just a simple puppet to whoever it was who ran the world?

It's a question he keeps to himself, although what hope was there before is completely blown out. Ventus simply swallows and looks down at the ground, mumbling:

"Thank you, for telling me."

Yuugi just nodded, but he seemed to understand what Ventus was thinking.

"If they remember being in another world, then they're not an NPC. If they don't, then they are. That's how you can tell them apart."

"Really!?" Which meant all he had to do was find them and ask, and- oh. "I'm sorry, I was so lost in my thoughts, I forgot. My name's Ventus!"

He's been so much help already, Dark Yuugi has a hand held out to him and a cheerful smile directed his way. It was what he did that counted, right? As far as good first impressions went, some silly little superstition wouldn't push him away from someone trying to help.

He took the hand, a little awkwardly. Social niceties were still rather foreign to him. Usually, when he was shaking hands, it was with a rival in their games. He wasn't really sure what to do with this kid who didn't really seem to know games.

"I'm Mutou Yuugi."

At the very least, the handshake is brief. Mutou may be a nice guy, but the feel that runs up his arm at the skin contact makes Ventus' skin crawl uncomfortably.

"Never been to a world like this before..." So many varying people, so many out of place locations. Like this town, for one. "You said it was a game, right? Is this world like an arena? A festival contest, maybe."

"I think so." He looked around. "But most of the ones I've talked to here never thought of that. But I think this world itself is the game. To escape it, we just have to figure out how to win."

"How to win..." Everytime he's been in anything that's even mildly classified as a contest- racing, hero training, there's always been the one goal that is most important. "All we need to do is come out first."

"But in this case, it's a game where we don't even know the goal."

"We just need to figure it out, then!" Can't be too hard, right? Most games are fairly simple in the goal- though Ventus has only really played Disney fairly basic ones.

"That's right. But we have very little to work with."

"We have ourselves, that's a good start." But what else would one need for this game? Hmm.. "Will we need weapons?"

He's pretty sure he can cover them on that front, if need be.
