Teddy had gone looking for Billy the moment he finished his conversation with Charles on the PORTAL. He didn't know how close Billy and this Erik were but he knew Billy would probably be unhappy about his grandfather vanishing even if he was from another universe.

When he couldn't find him in the apartment or the rest of the building, Teddy went up to the roof. When he finds his boyfriend, Teddy smiles. Walking over, the blond sits down next to Billy silently. Once comfortable, Teddy reaches over to put an arm around Billy's shoulders so he can pull him close.

Billy sits up a little when he notices someone else there, flicking his eyes to the side to see who it is, then relaxes when he sees it's just Teddy.

He leans his head to the side, resting it against Teddy's shoulder, enjoying his presence for a moment before he says anything. "If you could go back into the past and change something... would you?" he asks curiously.

Teddy stays quiet, waiting for Billy to speak. When he does, Teddy glances down and frowns slightly. "I think we both know better than to play with changing the past by now, Billy," he murmurs.

He closes his eyes, remembering the horror and anger he felt when Billy vanished. How Billy had called him for help he couldn't give and how he almost tore Nate into pieces. Shaking it off, he sighs.

"But if I could do it without the danger...there's a few things I would change."

"Me too," Billy admits. "I mean, if you went way back into the past and changed stuff, then things would really be out of whack and Iron Lad came from the future but the future hasn't happened yet for us so can't it be changed...? What would happen if you went back like only a few minutes instead of a few hundred years? Wonder if that would affect the future at all... I love sci-fi and all but time travel makes my brain hurt."

Billy's mind starts wandering off into Billy Potentially Has Scary Reality Warping Powers And Could Do Really Big Things That His Mom Did In Order To Change Some Things That Might Happen Especially Concerning Things That Might Happen To People He Cares About Very Very Much territory and he puts a break on those thoughts because... because well, here they don't matter because Teddy is here and he's not alone and while he might miss people, he doesn't feel lonely. And at home, he's just... He's not going to let himself think about things like that because it won't happen, he won't let it happen

"It makes my brain hurt too," Teddy admits with a small smile. "But I really don't know, B. A few minutes might not change things or it could just all be part of what happened anyway and you'd be part of a predestination paradox," he sighs.

"I'm glad you're here with me, Billy," he replies, shifting slightly to try pulling Billy into his lap. He wants to hold his boyfriend.

"But doesn't that mean you can't change your own fate? That would really suck. I like to think I'm in control of my own future." He easily lets Teddy adjust him and since no one is up here or flying around and watching them, he doesn't have a problem curling up against his chest.

Teddy stays quiet for a few moments once he wraps his arms around Billy. Resting his chin on Billy's head, he closes his eyes and thinks. "I think it's more that fate is what we make it and that it's not already picked out for us."

Billy smiles softly. "I like that better. So... what do you think of being here so far?" He's curious to know since from his memory, this is the first time Teddy's been here.

Teddy lets out a thoughtful noise. "It's...an interesting place. Not the worse alternate dimension kind of place we could have ended up. And I've made some friends here like Alex," he gives Billy a little squeeze. "And the fact that you're here with me makes it easier to deal with," he grins. "Want to go for a flight?"

Billy nods in agreement. "Yeah. It's great to have more mutants here this time around. I was one of the few here from earlier." He grins back, hands glowing with blue magic as he floats up. "Sure. Don't have to worry about air traffic much here, unless we're counting birds."

"It's still a little weird thinking that we were both here and only you remember it," Teddy admits. He stands, going green as Billy floats up. Wings form and flap a few times to stretch them before Teddy rises into the air as well. "What about the others that fly?"

"Them too, but I'm not sure exactly who all can do that here... Haven't really been doing much flying since we only just got here not that long ago. Hey, maybe we'll find our HQ," he muses. "It was here before and we used to live there but it's not where it was. Must have disappeared or moved..."

"I've only noticed a few," Teddy replies. He blinks at the mention of HQ. "And that's a whole other kind of weird," he says, shaking his head. "How does a whole building get here in the first place? And how does it just move or disappear?" he shrugs. "We should fly more. Just you and me."

"Teddy." Billy gives him a slightly exasperated look. "We're in the City of Dreams. Science doesn't really have a lot of hold over a place where you can just think something up into existence. It's like magic. Sometimes you're better off just not asking how it works or how something happened."

He tilts his head to the side a little with a thoughtful look. "You know, we both can fly, but have we ever discovered which one of us is faster...?" Billy smirks widely. "Race you." And with that, he shoots off with a laugh.

Teddy just grins at the expression. "Or it'll give us a headache like time travel does?" he teases. "Still weird though," he adds after a moment.

When he recognizes that look on Billy's face, Teddy just smiles and waits. He knows it usually means something is about to happen. Billy shooting off makes him laugh. "Hey! Get back here!" he calls as he shoots after the mage.

"You have to catch me first! You'll never get me, Hulkling!" he shouts back teasingly. "I'm the invincible Wiccan with my Cape of Awesome!" Billy's cape warps into existence, blue magic rippling down and changing into red fabric. "I'm unbeatable with it!"

Yes, he's being stupid and ridiculous. No, he doesn't care.
