[And with a stretch, Madsen's already rolling a shoulder, grinning a bit. It was going to feel great to get some of these kinks out of her system.]

You want me to keep the swords or ditch 'em? I'm good either way, so it's honestly up to you if you want to be working around weapons or not.

[Nithal, on the other hand, was going to be staying in standby for the time being in case things got heavy, but they doubted it would get that bad that fast.]

[Ace hasn't been doing any sort of stretching - it's sort of unnecessary when he thinks about it.]

Up to you - I don't use weapons when I fight, don't need to so it's your choice.

[He knows how to fight people wielding weapons with his Devil's Fruit so he settles into a more comfortable stance.]

Ready when you are.

[It's more habit than anything else for Madsen, but at his statement, she unclips both swords, leaning them against a nearby clump of bamboo.]

No swords it is, then. I need to work on my hand-to-hand anyway.

[Ace nods and then grins, a slower grin than usual because fighting opportunities here have been few and far between and he's sure she doesn't know exactly what the Mera Mera no Mi allows him.]

Hotarubi!

[Small green balls of light are sent Madsen's way, living up to their namesake by looking like tiny little fireflies floating around her.]

[She raises an eyebrow at the lights coming at her, but she's already blurring into shunpo to avoid them - probably wouldn't be good to be hit by them at this point.

After twisting and turning to avoid the lights, she finally gets close enough to lash out with a spin-kick, flames trailing across the arc of the kick from her foot.]

[Good thing about Hotarubi is that it follows the opponent until whenever Ace is ready to use Hidaruma. The kick when it comes has him raising an eyebrow as his own flames rush to meet it, mingling as flesh gives way, burning merrily.]

So you have fire too then?

[Seeing as there is only one of each fruit, no one else has his ability - it'll be interesting to see what he can do with it but he brings up both hands, held in the shape of pistols, the tips of his fingers already flames.]

Higan!

[Bullets of fire are soon shooting Madsen's direction - Ace isn't so much a physical guy; he doesn't have to be normally.]

Have my entire life.

[There's a small grin on her face as the kick's blocked, but she immediately shifts around, blurring out of view to avoid bullets - this was starting to remind her of when she had the guys shooting at her so she could learn to dodge better using shunpo.

She ducks down, only to slam a hand into the ground - a column of flames shoots out from the grass, streaking toward Ace.]

[The only person to move that fast that Ace really recalls is one of the Admiral's - people can be quick but that's something else. He'll need to find out what it is whenever the fight ends. But he lets the flames hit him, grinning.]

Hiken!

[One fist punches forward, bright flames - it's how he got his nickname after all and he follows along with it.]

[She straightens in one fluid movement, meeting punch for punch, white-gold flames enveloping her forearm in the motion. She forgot how much she had been relying on her swordplay up until now - and then was glad that she and Ichigo decided to try starting up Fight Club again for that very reason.]

Kagerō.

[The fire blasts from his palm this time, a solid stream - they're evenly matched in this it seems which is good. Always good to have other fire users around.]

You always call out your attacks or is this from the TENEKA kickin' in?

[Despite the grin on her face, though, she's going low, swinging out with a sweep kick to try and trip him up - and keep those flames from scorching her face in the process.]

[Someone clearly needs to learn the rules of shonen.]

I'm pretty attached to all the names I thought up when I got these abilities and started learning what to do with them.

[The kick lands while he's still explaining it and he falls back but the grin on his face is still there.

What, he's having fun, that's part of the point of this right?]

[She used to do it, but as her world slowly turned from shounen-esque to more grimdark, bit difficult, honestly. :x]

I don't have names for my abilities anymore - just hit with whatever I can, really.

[And she demonstrates that with a quick three-strike combo - left jab, right jab, and uppercut, but only the last blow is flame-laced.]

There's some situations that I can't afford to let the enemy know what I'm hitting them with.

I got my nickname from one of my moves.

[It's strange to have to focus on not letting the flames up but if the fight with Teach taught him one thing it was to learn to take a physical blow. Besides, he doesn't want to burn her.]

If I'm fighting enemies, I go all out but for something like this it's about both of us training right?

[Another stream of fire shoots out as he rolls, back up on his feet in the end.]

That's true. I guess I've been so used to fighting against something. That and my sensei was the kind of guy that preached "fight all out or don't fight at all". Which unfortunately applied to any sparring sessions as well.

[Yeah, Takeshi really wasn't much of one to have either one of them to hold back during a fight - she pulled something similar to Ichigo a while back when he was getting pissy. Surprisingly it helped.

Anyway, she's settling back into a neutral stance as she shifts out of the blast radius from the fire, taking a deep breath.]
