And she's moving. While the fire and electricity are running, she's already running, crouching low and using the new ability gained just before she had arrived in this strange city. Closing her eyes, she suddenly disappears, gone in a shadow of what looks like smoke, but feels too cold to be so.

The cold depth of the void comes screaming to her ears as she breaks through the time and space continuum, voices reaching for her and arms of shadow grasping at their unwelcome guest. But she pushes past them with ease, mind focused and labeling the places behind the ones running, behind the group overall. It's not a lot of room to work with, but if the rest of the group takes the front, she can hold the rear and fight off until they begin to dwindle down.

A sudden cloud of shadow comes out of nowhere, and with it 5624-A, combat knife aimed at the back of the neck of the nearest splicer, digging against the spinal cord and twisting with ease. If they resisted, she'd just as easily wrap her arms around their head and twist- if damaging didn't work, breaking was the alternate option.

Once the creatures started running at them, Billy was on guard, hands glowing with a blue aura of magic as he prepared to do a spell. Harry's fire seemed to be doing good, but Billy noticed that Isamu's lightning made them freeze for a moment.

Good news for him. He took careful note of where the others were, not wanting to electrocute them. Billy's eyes glowed blue as he let a lightning bolt lose, blasting into a few of the things.

Admittedly, standing there fighting with a handgun as he hugged the walls to avoid the fire and lightning blasts made Cou feel woefully inadequate. It was this sort of thing that made him wish he could use Noctus Chord or Zephyrus Art on his own. But he wasn't the sort to dwell on such things -not right now. As soon as he figured it was safe to move again, he skirts across the hallway, his flashlight guiding his aim as he gave a couple taps for each of the once-human monsters rushing toward them.

Finding the wall, he took aim again and pulled the trigger -finding himself disappointed to feel it click empty. Hastily, he pulls back behind his allies, crouching a few feet behind and to the side of the nearest one as he dropped into a crouch.

The pirate took a precious few seconds to release the empty magazine and pocket it before slipping out a fresh magazine and slapping it into the pistol. Cocking the gun and feeling ready to roll, he stands up and resumes firing.

The Splicers, surprisingly, are used to teleportation -- Houdini Splicers teleport and throw fire. The unlucky splicer that 5624-A targets shrieks and tries to get away, flailing with its pipe. Another two splicers rush her, one firing with a pistol and one aiming for her head with a lead pipe.

Each of the splicers that Billy electrocutes freezes in mid-step, twitching as the electricity runs through their bodies. The provide easy targets for Cou while they're stuck in place. There are still more, though, and many of them are still on fire and doing their best to get all the front-line fighters to join them in their pain. One of them, a woman with dark hair and dark eyes, tries to grab at the long fabric of Harry's duster and cape. "You! You did this to me!"

The slightly more distant splicers would find their paths blocked by...what seems to be nothing at first, but closer inspection would reveal to be a faintly incandescant barrier.

Towards the back of the group stood Mu, a faint golden glow outlining his form as he maintained the barrier. While he took no active part in fighting himself, Mu watched the battle carefully, erecting the invisible barriers wherever needed to prevent attacks landing on his teammates.

Heaven bless Karrin Murphy. Cause it was only upon her insistence on hours of staff training with her at her dojo that Harry has the inclination to swing the big oak staff - cut from a lightning split tree on Hog's Hollow farm in Missouri - right into the woman's knee, then rebuffing her with the blunt plane of the shield bracelet. Inside, something in him twists, angry and sad and guilty. This woman was, or had been, a human being.

"I'm sorry..." he muttered as he swung his staff from left to right, shouting Fozare! as a whip of kinetic force, as thick as an arm, slammed through the next wave of attackers that continued to boil over them.

Another set of quick taps at the immobilized Splicers and Cou found himself hoping that the numbers thinned out soon. In the panic of the moment, he's momentarily forgotten that there's an easy way to remedy this, but he knows that he only has about a dozen or so spare magazines tucked away in varied pockets within his clothing or the small backpack he has on over his jacket. And while he was fairly confident about holding his own against these things singly or even in pairs, a mob like this would be entirely overwhelming.

Damn was he missing Cisqua's missile launcher right about now. Not like he'd probably be able to aim the thing without taking the entire floor down with all of them.

His pistol echos another pair of taps -sounds likely drowned out by the significantly more impressive abilities of his teammates. Right now his determination keeps him from following his instinct to run, shifting his focus from the portion of the mob attacking the front of the group to any stragglers or more clever ones looking to attack from the rear flank.

Why in God's name was Harry apologising to those things? Never mind, he'd bring that up later as he took one hand from the hilt of his weapon and another blast of lightning shot out, a thin wide circle and then he was off and running too, hands on the blade as he moved in, attacks tight and controlled. The lightning wrapped around his weapon cracked and sparking, reassuring as always.

It was as he brought his sword up for another swing to let lightning arc out that a sudden rush of heat caught him in the throat and lower half of his face and he choked and swore because Jesus, thank you so much, he'd forgotten quite how he enjoyed being burned with intent. Angrily, he smacked the whole flat of the blade against the thing he'd been about to hit and it fell back but it had still achieved its goal. The heat was intense and he staggered back, gasping and spitting, already feeling the steady throb because the skin was so much thinner around the throat and sensitive and he let out an angry curse in Japanese as he turned just slightly. Not enough to show the current state of the lower part of his face but just enough to show the small blue flicker around him of his own magic, healing him as he went.

"Brilliant idea, lighting them up like that!" He yelled and to hell with it, dousing those monsters with water would get rid of the burning element and a hand lifted again, thumb and forefinger snapped in the direction of the monsters and a mist of rain descended. Not enough to put the flames out but enough to hopefully dampen them down while they fought so that the side affects of the team's offensive strategy couldn't be used against them quite so painfully.

Once again, the combination of fire, bullets, being magically pushed, and a blade does its job. One splicer flees, dashing down the hallway to the right at the end of their current hallway. If anyone gets it in their mind to follow him, they won't find him. All they'll see is a hallway much like their own, with a staircase leading down to the next floor and a security camera with green lights rotating back and forth.

The rest of the splicers are killed. If anyone decides to look, they may find dollar bills, creme-filled cakes, or spare ammunition on their bodies. In addition, several of the rooms in their hallway have money, creme-filled cakes, ammunition, potato chips, more of those blue hypos, and first aid kits. Some of them also have corpses.

If anyone should go to the end of the hallway and look to the left, they will see a Vita-Chamber and an abandoned wheelchair with a teddy bear on it. It looks like there's only one way for them to go -- after the escaping splicer.

With a sigh, Isamu sagged back, weapon away as he brought a hand up to feel around his face and throat, the skin still tender and already there were blisters forming with angry pinpricks and more blue light glowed from his hand as he held it to the burned areas to aid with the healing process. Looking more or less presentable apart from the blood now on his face and shirt and the singes his clothing had picked up during that blow, he looked around at everyone and sighed, shaking his head.

Well, on the plus side, no one had died but no, they needed some strategy here.

"Okay, clearly that wasn't the friendliest of welcomes we could have come up against," he began, clearing his throat a few times after that because it was still raw, the tang of metal lodged in it, "so, what I'm propsosing is this," his sword was drawn out agains and he stretched with one arm, using it to roll a few of the blue syringes closer, drawing a circle in the air above them. The syringes more or less disappeared from view, harder to spot and he looked back up at the team. "Harry, that and the ball of light I had earlier? The whole light and shadow magic thing. But if we can huddle in, I can cloak us all. Don't know how well it'll do here but some level of stealth would be good for this, even if just means some of you can run like hell past them to pull off a pincer move. If anyone doesn't want to though, feel free to opt out."

A pause for him to take a proper breath - this was a lot of speech for a face that had finally stopped healing, the blue flames disappearing completely from the very faint glow that had been left as he checked himself over for any other smaller injuries he might have forgotten to pay attention to thanks to that one.

"Oh and if anyone's hurt, you can either let me see if it's healable or I think I spy some first aid kits. No idea if they're tampered with or not so one of you lucky people can feel free to open one and see what's inside if you're feeling daring." And that was definitely it from him, falling back once again to where he was meant to be in the group, rubbing at his jaw and chin.

"I'm capable of healing most things as well," Mu said softly as he drew closer to the group. "Stealth is not something I'm used to, but it would be useful if you can maintain something like that."

Harry's feet are already moving before he even thinks, chasing down that lone Splicer. A part of him, a very tiny part, revels in this. Its like back in Chicago; an evil man, people to protect, and a mystery to solve. And he's so used to being alone or having Thomas or Murphy or maybe Billy beside him that he doesn't think to wait for the others until Isamu speaks. Grinding to a stop, he turns around to look at their group and the direction that the survivor went. Damnit, they needed to recollect themselves before they walked into another death trap.

Trudging back to the group - damnit, one of those things had managed a clean shot at his side. The cloak and the duster protected him, but didn't do much to negate the impact of the bullet. His ribs felt like they were made of fire as he leaned on his staff to watch Isamu's demonstration.

"A veil. Not bad." It was pretty damn good, honestly. "I like it, would be nice to not have to hack and slash our way to where we're going. How big can you make it and keep it stable?"

He eyed someone in the little huddled group. "Someone gather up the first aid kits, lets see if they're are worth using." With the apparent age of this place and all the leaking, rust and blood, there was a chance that using anything lying around would be inviting infection.

That was a relief and as the group starts recuperating, Cou doesn't wander far, but wastes little time in immediately searching the bodies for supplies. He'd easily gone through almost three magazines of ammunition during that fight and finds himself relieved that the munitions loaded in the guns of their foes were appreciably compatible with his gun.

As the guy with the lightning and ridiculously impressive sword techniques speaks up, the pirate decides to try his hand at being a team player and cooperate with the rest of his group. "I'm okay, but since I've got some space in my bag, I'll take some of the more-intact-looking of these first aid kits." While going over the groups spoils, he holds up one of those blue-hypos and shines his flashlight on it.

Admittedly, there's something peculiar about the strange syringe -it's nothing he's feeling so bold about as to try giving himself a dose. Still, he can't help but think that knowing what it is might help them figure out what exactly is waiting down here for them, "Hey guys... what'do you think stuff is? I mean, a lot of those things we were fighting had it on 'em."

((ooc: As a note -- none of the Splicers had EVE hypos, as none of them are actively using Plasmids. There are, however, some on the corpses in the extra rooms and in the extra rooms themselves.))

As soon as Harry got too close to the Vita-Chamber, there was a loud fizzling sound before the lights within it dim. It wouldn't have worked for any of them or any of the current residents of the Medical Pavilion anyway, but the noise would likely be unexpected.

None of the first aid kits have been tampered with, and all of them are well-stocked. As the group speaks, sounds can be heard from the distance. If they look, they won't find anything, but it's a nice reminder that they aren't alone.

Isamu had been about to yell at Harry - going off on your own was a sure fire way to get your fool head knocked off and it was hard to miss Harry's seeing as he hulked over pretty much all of them. But he didn't because he'd be saving that for any further encounters they might (who the hell did he think he was kidding here?) get into and took a few long moments to judge the group.

"If we stay tight and any further melees don't take too long? Decent amount of time. The longer it's up and we're fighting and I'm using other magic, it's going to get weakened and damaged and give up the ghost, not to mention that the things we're fighting could damage it too." A pointed look there; them running around on fire might do the trick. A quick thanks was then tossed Cou's way before he gave the syringes another look, shrugged and smirked, "For all we know it's disease-riddled semen." Isamu-speak for 'it's your funeral if it makes you sick'.

Back where he was meant to be, Isamu awkwardly positioned himself to actually use this part of the magic. Outdoors, he had limitless space to work with, wielding a blade as large as the one he carried but in here, one wrong move and it might be a teammate getting a sword where they didn't want one but it was manageable and it would hold. For a time.

"So," a grin full of false optimism found its way to his face and he gestured in the direction Harry had been heading, "shall we see what next wonders are in store for we, the lucky chosen few?"

And oh fuck that noise had damn well better be an empty stomach.

Billy was just about to go after Harry, because running off on your own probably wasn't a good idea right now and the wizard might/would probably need some back up, given how that first fight had gone. Luckily, the older man stopped and Billy let out an inward sigh of relief.

He turned to look at the bodies lying on the floor. There was no way Billy was going to touch them. He'd seen dead bodies before but touching them and taking their stuff was another thing entirely, so he let whoever else wanted to do so deal with that.

Peering at one of the blue syringes, he shrugged a little. "My dad works in a hospital and I have never seen anything like that before," he put in. "Whatever it is, it doesn't look normal."

Listening to Isamu and Harry discuss on strategy, Billy added in a few words himself. "Is there anything I can help with?" he offered. "If we're going for stealth, I've made myself invisible before." He jumped a little at the sounds, glancing off in the direction they'd come from a little nervously. Thaaaat didn't sound good.
