For a while she simply wandered around, talking here and there with people she may or may not know, eventually making her way to the pool where she yanked her shoes off and sat on the edge; dipping her legs into the water.

Oh he skipped the champagne. Give him some beer or sake any day.
"Hey," he called, weaving his way past a couple of people as he made his way over to Noah, "Nice dress."
Probably a sad day when even skimpy dresses covered far more than Ace's regular attire.

"Thanks, I'm not usually one to get dolled up but I didn't want to stand out like a sore thumb." She gave him a pointed look, but the smile on her face implied that she was obviously teasing, "How have you been, Blackjack? Not getting into too much trouble are you?"

But whatever, brohug ahoy because he'd been sort of missing that and a party wasn't a party without Marco shoving meat in his face brohugs so thank you Noah ( ... )

She couldn't help but frown just a tiny bit, "I'm sorry about that. At least you know where he is now? I'm sure he's fine. You'll be able to meet up again with him soon." she made sure to smile a little then, "I've been trying to fix my jet and going back and forth to the ship--Oh! I've been meaning to show you. Not that you can really miss her sitting off shore like she is."

Ace waved her off and smiled though. "Yeah, he's got good friends, good crew, to look after him and make sure he doesn't do anything too insane and when he does, they'll make sure he gets out of it again." He'd liked Luffy's crew when he'd met them and they'd all definitely been well-prepared to cope with the level of idiocy Luffy brought to the table. "Oh! So that massive thing is yours then? I've seen it when I've been out and about on the striker."
And maybe he'd had a quick exploration of the outside, climbing up the side just to see what was there. Definitely very different to the ships from home, that was for sure.

"I wouldn't be worried then. He's a pirate after all--you guys can handle yourselves and if he's your brother I don't see much of a problem." Yes that was a compliment.
She tilted her head slightly, "Yeah, that's mine. It's kind of lonely being the only one on there all the time, since it's so damned big. but you're free to come and visit whenever you'd like."

"Yes but Luffy? Luffy wasn't blessed with much in the way of brains or common sense at all." It was a simple statement of fact because how man times had Ace fished Luffy out of some crazy situation as a child, at first with Sabo and then without? Far too many. And even know, if Ace recalled it correctly, he was pulling his most idiotic and insane stunt to date but he pushed that thought from his mind with a smile. "Just means I need to go smack a bit of sense into him next time we meet."
The smile grew then and he tipped his hat forward in her direction, "Well I could never refuse such a request from a lady."
And then, for a minute, it would seem as though he was starting to bow. Until he swayed on his feet, eyes shut and well...only one place he was going to end up passing out in.

Noah couldn't help but laugh at that, "I hope that's not an inherited trait then," She said, tapping Ace's head gently in an obviously teasing manner, "Well good, I look forward to having you--"
"Blackjack?" Oh shit, not again. Noah moved forward quickly once he started leaning forward, just in time for him to faceplant right into her cleavage. She held him up as best she could, glancing down at the glass she had dropped right into the pool. "Glad you didn't drown at least." She laughed, moving to sit down a few feet from the pool and allow the man to rest against her chest.

So needless to say she didn't really have any reason to object, as she would have rather him fall into her chest than into the pool where he would sink like a rock and she'd have to jump in with her skintight dress. That would have been terrible for everyone.
When he apologised she just sort of waved it off--figuratively anyway, patting the top of his head reassuringly. "No need to apologise, Blackjack. You already told me you can't help it. Besides, I'm just glad you didn't hurt yourself."

Ace straightened up and rubbed at the back of his neck, looking off to one side as he wished he had a little alcohol to blame for the flushed face. There was a glance at the pool again and near-drownings never put a Devil's Fruit eater in the greatest of moods at all so he nodded in thanks once more.
"Thank you, been a long time since I was last fished out of the sea." And that time had been by a young lady as well.
"So..." change of subject time? Oh hell yes. "What do people do at parties like this? Anything I've attended in the last three years has been based at sea and hasn't been nearly as organised."
Reply
Noah had to laugh again at how embarrassed he looked, "Really, it's no problem." she assured him, gladly going along with the subject change,
"Well, I haven't really been to a party this big and extravagant in a long time, but normally people dance, mingle, drink and generally try and be more civil than what you're probably use to. Since it's a Valentines Party I assume there will be some flirting, too."
Reply
"Wait, there are parties just for flirting?" He was kidding of course and wow, this was seriously a dull party so far because where was the noise and the actual feast? "I thought that happened at every party. Or just every day really."
Dashing grin goes here of course.

"Well, it is Valentines day. A day where you express your love for someone you care about...and to flirt shamelessly if you're single." She laughed, "Every day if you're lucky." She clinked her glass against his gently, "Implying something, Blackjack?"
