Ladon is hanging out in the garden, dressed up in a pinstripe zoot suit and a matching fedora. In usual Ladon fashion, he's keeping to himself, refusing the offer of appetizers and instead just nursing a stout little glass of whiskey and smoking a cigarette.

He does look up when anyone he knows passes by and tips his hat. He's not exactly being anti-social, but he's not mingling. That's Ladon for you.

Unfortunately for Ladon - and he really should have known this by now - Lior was not one that would simply take a silent greeting and walk away. Nope, as soon as she saw him she was running up to greet him properly. "Ladon! What are you doing hiding out here?"

Thankfully it takes Ladon some time to get to the "kiss all things" stage, but he does flush a little and smile at Lior. Derp derp girl derp.

"Don't think the hostess'd be real keen on me smokin' up her party, yeah?"

Lior was still stupidly unaware of the madness that had ensued with the arrows and magic, and had apparently done a damn good job avoiding it all. So she didn't even notice him flushing just the tiniest bit,

"Well I guess that makes sense...are you going to go back inside after? There's so many people!"

"Yeah. Yeah, prob'ly."

Ladon wasn't sure why he couldn't just point his feet out the door and leave. It would probably be best to do so, to avoid doing anything embarrassing again, like giving people flowers or blushing like an idiot or-- or well, acting on an urge that was very new: be affectionate to people.

Ladon didn't do affectionate. Not to anyone outside his family.

"Decent turn-out for a shin-dig like this."

"Shin-dig." She repeated, chuckling behind a hand before she moved it back to tuck a stray strand of hair behind her ear. "Do you think she invited everyone in the city? This place must be bigger than I thought..." she glanced back to the palace a moment. Well, duh, it was huge.

"So how have you been? I haven't seen you much since--" --let's not get into that. "Ah- a few days ago."

"Means a party," he explained, then nodded, looking about. "Thinkin' she did. Dunno how many showed. Ain't been countin'."

He snubbed his cigarette out on the ground then, rolled his shoulders in a shrug. "Keepin' busy. Workin' on things."

Well, mostly hiding out in his room or club, panicking over the fact that he's been feeling... well. Cuddly. Ugh. "You?"

She figured as much, but she just nodded and silently added that to her list of words she had learned while in Promenade. "I don't think anyone can count that high." she teased, but was half tempted to try now.

"Working on things? like what?"

Then she gave a shrug of her own, "I've been practicing my magic and helping Kanji at the shop. Other than that I haven't been doing too much."

"Dunno. M'pretty good with numbers." Ladon had to chuckle at that. There were probably better ways to spend your evening than by counting party guests, but Ladon did miss all the math involved in keeping track of his bank accounts.

"M'gonna teach a housemate t'shoot a gun. M'workin' on somethin' that'll suit 'er." He'd nearly perfected the little gun, too, and was going to present it to Yako... that is, when both of them were feeling more normal.

"Mmm. Seems we're all kinda settlin' in here."

"Ah--well then I'm sure you could count that high!" she didn't mean to rule that out.

She tilted her head curiously, "Shoot a gun?" she was pretty sure they didn't have guns back home. Must have been a human thing--that is if Ladon was as human as she assumed-- from his world.

"Well...what else can we do? It's better that we try and at least be comfortable while we try and find our way back to our homes...right?"

"Maybe. A lot of new people popped up before, yeah?"

He nodded, opened his jacket and pulled out the pistol he'd been wearing. Even in formal attire, Ladon kept a gun on him at all times. He held it in his hands to show it to her, safety still on. "S'a weapon. Shoots bullets. Kinda like a bow and arrow but a helluva lot faster. Good if you ain't got magic for defense."

He had to nod to that. "S'a good way of lookin' at it."

"Yeah, but I don't think we've had many new people lately." not that she'd really know since she had the attention span of a gnat.

She hunched her shoulders up just a little when he pulled the strange weapon out, hesitantly reaching out to press the tips of her fingers along the metal. "W-Wow, I've never seen anything like that before." but she understood what he meant at least.

"I hope we all manage to get home soon--" she bit her lip lightly, "But I'll miss all my friends I made here..."

He watched her touch the gun, particularly when her fingers found the strange engraving on the side of the gun. "Most of 'em ain't got those kinda symbols on 'em. Put charms on mine, makes 'em easier an' safer t'have around."

And more deadly for the people he sold them to, but he had no interest in telling her that, even if he wasn't all derped up on twitterpation magic. And her admission that she'd miss her friends-- possibly him included, but Ladon never knew-- made him want to just hug her. He settled for clearing his throat and blushing. "Pretty sure they'd miss you too, kid."

Obviously the young elf was fascinated by the thing; if only because she couldn't quite understand how it worked even when compared to a bow and arrow. It was entirely different...but the use was the same; to kill. Weapons weren't her forte, and the only experience she had was with a sword. "So yours is special then?"

Of course he was included. Ladon had been there for her the night she returned from the dead, and he had been nice to her ever since they had met, "B-But it'd be better for everyone to go home!" even if the sad look in her eyes betrayed what she said next, she smiled; "I just want everyone to be happy a-and at least I won't forget them if they do leave...and I'll know they're safe."

He holstered the gun again, once she was done looking at it. "Yeah. Got a few spells on it. Can't be used 'gainst me for one. Also don't needa load it with bullets. Don't use it 'less I got to, though."

And, well, that little confession and the meaning beneath it just kind of was too much. He put his arms about her and hugged her. "S'real sweet of you, thinkin' like that, kid."

Where was this cuddliness coming from? It was like being a hatchling all over again.
