[ Beautiful -- even in the wee hours of the morning when the plants' still-vibrant colors suggest toxicity, when silence condenses on your skin like dew and servants' lanterns move and morph into hulking fireflies by the castle.
Whatever.
Edward Elric stifles a yawn and resists the urge to tap his foot or touch a leaf and have an allergic reaction or something. They hadn't set a specific time to meet, per se -- sometime at night, sure, when they'd be least likely to get caught due to either their own mistake or a servant's momentary alertness -- so he had come around 1 am, maybe a little after? And stood outside the garden entrance (shrouded enough by a leaf half the size of his small body) in the customary cloak and gloves and articles of clothing, waiting for someone to show. Keeps nodding off every fifteen minutes, though, seeing as it's his second late night in a row and he's a growing boy with another soul to sleep for (not that he knows!). ]
