Power Outage, Days 2 and 3
CAN YOU BELIEVE that the power was out in our house for a full 48 hours, from 9:30 Thursday night until 9:30 tonight? It was extremely cold, dark, and all of our food spoiled, including lots of frozen meats Mom just bought, hamburger, salmon, and chicken. It was not a lot of fun. So now I'll do two days at once!
Here's yet another question that I find difficult to answer. There are a lot of movies that I love watching over and over, but would I call any of them my favorite? The movie that I think I have seen the most times, and would always watch again, is "The Fifth Element." Why? I don't know if I can explain it. It just hits some kind of sweet spot with Gary Oldman, Gaultier costumes, ass-kicking, and explosions. Other movies high on my list: Tropic Thunder, Romy & Michelle's High School Reunion, Let the Right One In,

Also, I really, really love "Garth Merenghi's Darkplace." Matt Holness reminds me of a guy I used to know who was a tremendous douchebag that I had an inexplicable crush on (and who slept with my friend when she was going through her slutty phase [I should add that I don't judge her for sleepin' around, just that at the time she was a little in denial about it, and it's like, "Just own it, okay, you like sleeping with guys].) In conclusion, I have a total crush on Matt Holness and I think that, like the Unicorns' masterpiece "Who Will
Cut Our Hair When We're Gone?", he and Rich Ayoade have created something that is perfect and awesome.
