In Bloomington, the first snow of the year once fell on Halloween. School was cancelled, a rare occurrence for well-prepared and hardy folk like Minnesotans. Kids waded through twelve inches of snow in flurry-soaked costumes. I felt so bad for any little squirt who made it through the drifts that I gave them each a full bag of candy ( Read more... )

Dinner with bebot ko at Beaujolais in Eagle Rock last night. They've got live jazz from a trio (with occasional contributions from a deep, smoky alto) on Wednesdays, and the first tune I heard as I met my girl at the table was "My Romance".
