Dr Who wins Hugo Award (Dramatic Presentation Short Form)

Aug 28, 2006 23:07

Just read that DW won the Hugo - hooray! And it was Steven (Press Gang, Coupling) Moffat's two-parter, 'The Empty Child'/'The Doctor Dances' ("Are you my mummy?".... goosebumps!), which were definitely the best eps in the new series' first season. He also was responsible for this year's episode 'The Girl in the Fireplace', which has left me melancholy since I saw it a few weeks ago*.

I've been trying to email Moffat to say congrats (I know him from DW fandom), but I think I've got an out-of-date address, so if any of you guys see or email him, could you give him my best?

* A combination of awe at its beauty, envy that Sophia Myles (Mme Pompadour) & David Tennant (the Doctor) have each other, and fear I'll never have such a love myself.

hugos, doctor who
