WOMEN IN THE PROFESSIONS SURVEY 2007

My union, the National Tertiary Education Union, along with many other professional organisations across Australia, is inviting women members to participate in the Women in the Professions Survey 2007

The purpose of the survey is to provide insights into professional women’s working arrangements, career needs and service requirements in Australia. At a time of significant change in the laws governing employment conditions, as well as much discussion about shortages of skilled professionals and work/life balance, it is important that a reliable snapshot of existing arrangements is available.

The survey is being conducted by the Association of Professional Engineers, Scientists and Managers, Australia (APESMA) with the assistance of the Federation of Scientific and Technical Societies (FASTS).

No identification is required to complete the survey, ensuring that all responses will remain completely confidential. A summary of survey results will be made available later in 2007.

The validity of survey results depends in large part on the level of participation of professional women across Australia. It would of great assistance if you could participate in the survey by taking the 5-10 minutes required to complete the online questionnaire which can be found at http://www.apesma.asn.au/vsurveys/wip2007/survey.asp

The closing date for survey participation is Wednesday March 7, 2007.
