What I've Been Doing

I've been rather neglectful of LJ.

It's certainly not due to being busy. At least not busy with really important things.

1. I decided to watch The West Wing from beginning to end. I went through the first four seasons super fast, as I love and adore those episodes and the astonishing CJ/Toby sexual tension and subtext. The last few seasons are dragging, not to mention that TV shows that are actually on right now started showing new episodes (and Big Love and The Closer came back on). I'm thinking about doing Buffy the Vampire Slayer next, or Bones.

2. Most of my money goes to therapy and a nutritionist these days. I've made some major progress in a lot of ways, but in other ways... it feels like some things never change. I'm trying to put less focus on losing weight and more on feeling good - not just physically, but feeling good about the choices I make, even if it's the choice of having a cookie over a banana.

3. My nutritionist is awesome. I wish we were friends.

4. Today at work a guy I've had a huge crush on for a year had to email me about 6 times and come down to my desk for files 6 times. The 6th time he said it would be the last for the day. In my head I said, "You just like coming down here to see me." But I am not that bold so I just smiled and said something completely boring.

5. The same guy, I refer to him as my future husband to my friends at work. I say things like, "I'm going to tell him that once we're married, he can't return files with loose papers." One of these days I worry I'll say something about our fake marriage to his face.

6. Speaking of work, I'm 99.9% sure I'll lose my job. It will either be because someone is out to get me or because of the economy. Neither is appealing. I know so many people are experiencing this and it just sucks. I have this constant queasy feeling. Yuck.

7. I neglected my novel for a couple months and then last weekend I added about two paragraphs. But it's finished in my head! That counts, right?

8. We had a lot of snow and ice. It made me long for being a student and having snow days. I was a wreck driving in this crap because people are stupid and think they have something to prove, that they are immune to slick surfaces and can drive however they want. Also, I kind of want to build a snowman.
