When characters confuse you

I seem to have written a bit of my in-design High Fantasy-style world.  Hurrah!
However, during the near-obligatory beastie attack, the following exchange occured:

"It's a sheepdragon!"
"Too big.  I've never seen one that siz - "
"Just shoot it!"

...I'm not sure what a sheepdragon is.  There aren't really any dragons in that area, so I'm down to 'something predatory that might be densey fluffy.  Pale?'

I'm sure I'll find out eventually.
