Chapter Forty Eight

~~~~~~~~~~Ginny hobbled painfully along the main street. She had continued dutifully wearing her shoes for the past half an hour but now she was becoming slightly fed up with them. She took them off and threw them against the nearest wall. Hard. Okay, so maybe more than slightly fed up.
She picked them back up and began to walk back down the road, contemplating how much she hated Blaise Zabini. She really did hate the bugger. He was Italian, he was suave and he had the biggest crush on Hermione of all people. Pshah, she didn’t need some Italian stallion. She had… she didn’t need Blaise.
She also hated Ron. What did the git think he was doing, groping Malfoy in a public place? Did he have no sense of decency whatsoever? And Malfoy? Had he no taste? What with that and George sleeping with Luna, she was having a hard time grasping onto any tiny bit of logic left in her life. She hated a lot of people at the moment.
However, she thought as she stared at Montgomery building on campus, Neville wasn’t one of those people. She bounded up the steps two at a time with only one thought on her mind; getting away from the madness that had been this particular Monday.
“Neville, get your arse out here, pronto!” she yelled, banging her fist hard on the door. It opened slowly and Neville timidly poked his head around it.
“What’ve I done this t- Oh, hi, Ginny.”
“You’re coming with me,” Ginny barked, grabbing Neville’s arm and yanking him out the door. He had the good sense to grab his flat keys with the hand that Ginny wasn’t dragging and also managed the impressive feat of shutting the door with his left foot.
After letting Ginny drag him along for a good ten minutes, Neville finally breeched the inevitable question.
“Erm, Gin? Where are we going?”
“To feed the ducks,” Ginny snapped.
Neville didn’t dare ask where the bread was.
