light problems + Adam = happy dance (?)

I SAW ADAM PASCAL LIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was so nervous walking into the theatre. Sam and I checked our programs for an understudy sheet, which there was none. Then I waited, squirming in my seat and playing with my necklace until the usual announcement began. I held my breath as the voice spoke through the speakers into the theatre. “Please turn off all cell phones, no recording devices…” and so on. I held my breath waiting to here “And in tonight’s performance the role of Roger Davis will be played by…” but it never came. The seats I got were four rows from the stage and in the dead center of the house so as Adam Pascal walked out I could tell it was him, blond hair and all (movie mullett, just say no). It was hard to take my eyes off of him, I had waited so long to see him perform live! The show was amazing, making me cry several times, during One Song Glory, What You Own, and Your Eyes. Like Kelley had said before, Adam Pascal and Anthony Rapp ARE Rent! And Sam and I got a special treat that, according to Anthony Rapp, had never happened before, they had to pause the show. During the first big number Rent, the spot took it’s sweet time turning on to give the character Mark light to sing in, then was slow to switch to Roger. After the song was over the announcers voice came on again to tell us there was a lighting problem (really??? Ha!) and that the show would start again soon. Adam Pascal then stood up from the table he was sitting on, danced a jig then left the stage. The actor who plays  Angel was already up on the “Christmas tree” to start You Okay Honey and we were close enough to the stage to hear him laugh and say “Well, I’m not getting back down!” Adam then called out, “Well, I’ll stay out there with you!” and ran back to sit on his table. It was so much fun to see them interacting out of character… but if Professor Hartman asks I thought they were very unprofessional, lol!
After the show, like many other fans, Sam and I headed to the stage door to try and get autographs. We met Anthony Rapp, and spoke to him!!!!!! Sam told him we had seen the show in Detroit too and how much we loved him. He said thanks and made a crack about how we had missed Adam then the first time we saw the show. I said that that was part of the reason we were seeing the show again. We didn’t have time to take pics with him but I got a couple good shots while he was with other fans. Adam Pascal didn’t sign autographs but that’s fine. I have a small fear he might not be as nice to the Rent fans as Anthony and I’d rather still like him from afar. *squee* I’ve seen Adam Pascal sing live, it was amazing.

There is much more to the Chicago trip than this but I think I should maybe make it a separate entry.

High: ADAM PASCAL
Low: There isn’t one that I can see!!!!!!
