my reference to auntie em was me feeling bad for not having contacted you in ages, not me expecting you to put forth the effort. -_-; just to clarify.
so i found an old email that i meant to send to caryn back when i moved here. haha. i think your email changed, so i will paste it here.

::sigh:: my poor dear caryn, i just dont seem to be able to keep my deadlines. n_n i am VERY happy that i was able to im with you last night. the only reason i did not tell you my address is because i didnt know that you even HAD aim, scence we never talked via instand messanger before, but i am glad that we are now. <3
what is in iowa..... apparently i have given poor sara (schretenthaler) that iowa is something of a social siberia. i didnt mean to misslead her, coralville is right next to iowa city, and four hours away from chicago, so there are somethings to do. it does have a very small town feel about it, which i really like, and there is a lot of farmland and such not too far away. i do seem to be a little socially isolated though. all of the kids here have been together sence elementry school, so it is very hard to penetrate into their ranks. they are very clique-ish. territorial might be a better word, but it is a little strong. they are not ANTI-social, just...a-social(?) at least when it comes to me. which is okay. i can adjust. interestinly, the school is HUMONGOUS. at least, comming from an all girls school with a little over 500 to a public school with over 1700... well, you get the point. i find it kindof funny, since even though this place is small in comparison to san antonio, a had a rather small enviornment within sa. or rather, small communty, big enviornment. here it is the opposite.
you asked me about boys yesterday. they are all in better shape then the boys in san an, but as lovely as boys are, the whole idea of dating is a little scary right now, so i will try to avoid it as best i can. on the subject of boys though, the two little kids i babysit are ADORABLE! i love them soooo much!!! their names are connor, age 10, and raul (yes, as in phantom of the opera. go ahead, roll the 'r'. Raoul. ah!) age 7. they are both incredibly smart, energetic, and they have the BEST SENSE OF HUMOR ever! i love them! speaking of little boys that i love, i am doing community theatre here. we are doing sonheims THE SECRET GARDEN. i am just in the corus, but that is acually a wonderful role. i will explain why in a moment. anyway, so one of the little boys in the children's chourus is named mathew. he is just the right size to be my arm rest. i tell him so, and he doesnt mind. in fact, the first night we had practice together i was feeling sick. and he kept telling me to use him as an armrest, as though it would make me feel better. n_n he goes to stand with the high voices, the women, and tells me "I am a good soprano!" after a little while he looked up at me and said "you are a good soprano too!" he has a bowl cut, shiny brown hair, big expressive eyes and long dark lashes. he is so going to be a heartthrob when he get older. (so is raoul. he will be totally gorgeous. haha.)
anyway, the story of my audition and then i must go. i just started voice lessons with a very prestegeous voice teacher. how i got those is a story in and of itself, and i will tell you next letter if you are intersted. (though come to think of it, mabey you wont find it that interesting... and that is okay. n_n) any how, she told me i needed to audition for the secret garden, she didnt have the information, but here was the number i could call, blah di blah blah. so i call, and it turns out the auditions have already passed, BUT the director was having auditions for people who were sick, so if i wanted i could go down and give it a shot. i did, and it went great. my mom was there and she said she had never been so impressed with me. he found out there that i was cinderella, and he made me sing "on the steps of the palace" which, thankfully, went the way i sing it in the shower and NOT the way it went when i actually preformed it on stage last year. then he had me do a series of bizzare warm ups, and he would give direction, and i would follow, and so on. then he had me sightread one of mary's peices, one of the meatier ones, and i did perfectly! so when i left i actually had a really good shot at being cast.

obviously, quite a few things have changed sence then. i really like it here, i have a nice little circle of friends here that i REALLY want you all to meet -- you will meet a couple of them on the choir trip to san an (HUZZAH!), including my boyfriend (::GASP::) who i am incredibly, incredibly happy with. I have done many more shows sence secret garden, and i saw matthew durring fiddler and he has grown in cuteness. it is amazing.
so where are all of you beautiful people going to college?
