Alive and Well

Hello LJ world. I have not forgotten about you. In fact I am keeping up with everyone - I just don't usually have time to comment. I am home from work for the summer, but these days Ollie's naptime = my naptime too. I also feel like even though I have lots going on in my life, writing it down seems daunting and mundane at the same time.
Even so, I thought I'd pop in and update - we moved to Radford not this past weekend but the one before. The new house is way different than our little farmhouse out in the country, but we like it. I think it will really fit our needs over the next year - all one level, carpet, newer, meaning more convenience like closets, a master bathroom, garage, that kind of thing. Our main reason for moving was convenience - the drive to and from work, esp w/ gas prices, was getting to be too much, and with another on the way, it just seemd like we had to do it. And I think we made the right choice. It feels comfortable here - I've been part of this community for years through work, we just never lived here. So we already know people with kids Ollie's age in town and in our neighborhood even, so that is working out well. We've gone with friends to toddler storytime at the library twice now, this morning being the second time, and Ollie is in love with the new library. It has a huge kids section with toys and everything and he threw a huge fit when it was time to leave. It's lovely to report that your child loves the library, but also embarassing when he lies down in the middle of the floor in front of the circulation desk and refuses to budge. Luckily one of the librarians took pity on me and helped me coax him out the door.
Tom graduated at the beginning of May and started a new job at the end of May. So far he seems to be liking it. It is an entry level job, so its not the ideal, but that is understood off the bat, and there seems to be plenty of opportunities to move up with this company, so that's good.
I can't believe what a smooth transition Ollie has made moving to the new house. He's just gone with it, not even getting out of sorts about having his toys packed up and moved around. He likes his new room and the fact that he can ride his trike in the driveway and the street now (couldn't do that out in the country). We've been talking a lot about the baby and he gives my belly hugs and kisses. Not that I'm assuming that will be an easy transition, but he's talking like he's got some clue what's going one - we'll see. I am 36 1/2 weeks along, meaning I've got 3 1/2 more to go! This is very exciting, as Ollie was born at 34 weeks, so I've already made it lots farther than I did with him. In fact, when I reached the 36 week mark, it meant I could have her here at the local hospital and not have to go up to Roanoke where the NICU is. So things on that end are good. I am feeling good, my only complaint being general tiredness, but that is to be expected. I definitely hope to make it a few more weeks - I want her to be a Leo, and am emjoying this last little bit of time with Ollie as an only child.
I'm excited because the lovely supergoober is coming for a visit tomorrow night. She will get to check out our new digs and Ollie will get some quality time with Aunt Zee Zee.
I will post some pictures that my parents took over the weekend when my stepmother sends them out and of couse keep everyone updated on baby news : )
